Thanh Hoa Provincial Association of the Elderly leads emulation cluster No. 5, North Central region

On January 8, the Standing Committee of the Association of the Elderly (NCT) of Thanh Hoa province held a conference to summarize the work in 2024 and deploy tasks for 2025.

The Central Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association presented the Flag of the excellent leading unit of Emulation Cluster No. 5, North Central region in the movement "Old age - bright example" in 2024 to the Thanh Hoa Provincial Elderly Association.

In 2024, the Elderly Association at all levels closely followed the political tasks of the province and effectively carried out the Association's tasks. Patriotic emulation movements of the elderly continued to be promoted. The Elderly Association at all levels admitted nearly 21,991 new members, bringing the total number of members to 493,808. The longevity wishes and celebrations for the elderly were solemnly and thoughtfully organized by the Elderly Association at all levels, with 68,870 elderly people being wished and celebrated longevity. On the occasion of holidays, Tet and the Month of Action for the Elderly in Vietnam, the Elderly Association at all levels gave gifts to 48,188 elderly people in difficult circumstances, with a total amount of over 13.3 billion VND.

Elderly health care continues to be promoted, with over 211,700 elderly people being informed and disseminated about health care knowledge; more than 358,250 elderly people having their health check-up records established; 338,258 elderly people receiving periodic health check-ups; 214,806 elderly people receiving free eye exams; mobilizing and supporting 20,897 elderly people to buy health insurance; 481,236/548,914 elderly people have health insurance, reaching a rate of 88%.

Besides, the elderly in the province are always exemplary, proactively participating in economic development; building new rural areas, civilized urban areas; building cultural life in residential areas, building cultural families, model families; building a clean and strong political system.

The Provincial Elderly Association has exceeded its targets and plans for replicating the intergenerational self-help club model. Currently, the province has over 1,220 intergenerational self-help clubs, leading the country in terms of the number of clubs.

With the achievements, in 2024, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Elderly Association was awarded the Flag of Excellent Unit leading the emulation cluster No. 5 in the North Central region in the movement "Old age - bright example" by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association.

On this occasion, many collectives and individuals were awarded Emulation Flags and Certificates of Merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Elderly Association; Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Elderly Association for their outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement "Old age - bright example" in 2024.
