Vietnam Journalists Association continues to innovate, being a professional and technical support for press agencies.

On June 17, 2024, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department worked with the Party Delegation and the Vietnam Journalists Association .

Attending the meeting were comrades: Lai Xuan Mon, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; and comrades Deputy Heads of the Central Propaganda Department; comrade Nguyen Duc Loi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; comrade Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; representatives of leaders of a number of central ministries, branches, the Journalists Association and leaders of central news agencies and newspapers.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department spoke at the working session with the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

On behalf of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association, reporting on the results of the leadership and direction of the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association; the results of the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association, comrade Le Quoc Minh said: The 11th Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association was held on the last day of 2021. Since the beginning of the term, the Party Delegation, the Standing Committee, the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the Association have been united and unanimous in the leadership and direction of the Association at all levels and have achieved encouraging results.

The Party Delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association has actively led and directed the Vietnam Journalists Association in thoroughly grasping and implementing the Party's guidelines and viewpoints, the State's laws and policies, especially the implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; educating , fostering, and improving the political awareness and professional ethics of journalists, first of all thoroughly grasping the Party's regulations and the State's laws to each level of the association and its members.

Clearly define the responsibility to both carry out information and propaganda tasks and be a role model in Party building and rectification work; prevent and repel ideological, moral and lifestyle degradation, manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation"; study and follow Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle... and documents and regulations directly related to press activities.

Comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association reported at the working session.

Along with that, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association has also paid attention to and directed the training of journalism skills. This can be considered a highlight in the Association's work since the beginning of the term. The Vietnam Journalists Association has organized hundreds of training courses, held seminars, forums, exchanges, and press talks, thereby helping members improve their skills, expertise, and professionalism to create more and more modern, high-quality journalism products that closely follow the reality of social life.

The National Press Awards, specialized press awards, and local press awards are increasingly attracting the attention of the press and people nationwide. The National Press Festival is increasingly organized professionally, practically, and effectively, truly a festival for journalists and the public.

The leadership and direction of the activities of the Journalists Association at all levels have many innovations, focuses, and key points. The consolidation and improvement of the organization of the Vietnam Journalists Association have been paid attention to and implemented. The work of reviewing, improving the quality of members, and managing members has been focused on. The protection of the legitimate and legal rights and interests of members; the commendation, encouragement, and motivation of members who have made positive contributions to press activities and the work of the association have been implemented regularly and promptly. More attention has been paid to detecting, preventing, and handling members who violate the law and professional ethics. The coordination with the press management and direction agencies in directing, orienting, and managing press activities has become increasingly tight, promoting positive effects.

Foreign affairs, expanding diplomatic relations between the Vietnamese press and other countries, signing cooperation agreements, participating in conferences and seminars with foreign press organizations, organizing delegations to enhance exchanges and coordination in the field of journalism are directed by the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association, actively contributing to the development of the country's press as well as enhancing the image and position of the country in the international arena.

Cultural, social and charitable activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association and all levels of the association across the country have been implemented practically, effectively and promptly, demonstrating the humanistic beauty of Vietnamese journalists, spreading strongly in social life, and contributing to the overall development of the country.

The preparation work for the 5-year review of the implementation of Directive No. 43-CT/TW dated April 8, 2020 of the Party Central Committee Secretariat "On strengthening the Party's leadership over the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association in the new situation" as well as the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) is being carried out very vigorously with clear and specific assignment of responsibilities among units, ensuring strict and effective implementation, so that the review and celebration work ensures quality, effectiveness, practicality, and high spread.

Comrade Lai Xuan Mon, member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Chairman of the Scientific Council of Central Party agencies spoke at the working session.

The implementation of Plan 154 and Plan 156 of the Central Propaganda Department has been directed by the Party Delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association, achieving many important results, creating positive changes in the awareness and actions of the press nationwide, contributing to realizing the goal of building a professional, humane, and modern press and media in the spirit of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.

Speaking at the working session, Comrade Lai Xuan Mon, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, representatives of the Ministry of Information and Communications and representatives of leaders of a number of news agencies and newspapers focused on more clearly assessing the results that the Journalists Association has achieved since the beginning of the term, the orientation and key tasks of the Association in the coming time.

In particular, delegates focused on discussing the preparation for the 5-year review of the implementation of Directive No. 43-CT/TW of the Secretariat on the Association's activities. Preparations towards the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. Results of implementing Plan No. 154-KH BTGTW on "Building a cultural environment in press agencies". Preparations for the 12th National Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association, term 2025-2030... discussed press planning, press management, and organization of press awards.

The working session aimed to evaluate the results of the Party's leadership and direction on the activities of the Vietnam Journalists Association since the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association, term 2020 - 2025, up to now and to deploy a number of key tasks in the coming time.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department emphasized the need to continue to lead and direct the Vietnam Journalists Association to pay attention to, focus on, and strengthen the work of education, professional training, ethics, and skills for journalists and members of the Vietnam Journalists Association. This is considered a key task, of great significance to the strong and sustainable development of the press.

The Vietnam Journalists Association needs to be a reliable address, a professional and technical support for press agencies to continue to strive, seek to innovate themselves, truly become an accurate and timely information channel, closely following the country's reality and the breath of life, thereby performing the function of orienting ideology, creating consensus in society, maintaining the role of being an official and reliable source of information for the people.
