The Congress, which lasts until December 3, 2023, is an important political event for the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union, and is a broad political activity among cadres, union members, and workers nationwide.
The 13th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union has the task of evaluating the implementation results of the Resolution of the 12th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union; determining the goals and tasks for the 2023-2028 term; reviewing the leadership and direction of the Executive Committee of the 12th Vietnam General Confederation of Labor , electing the Executive Committee of the 13th Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; evaluating the implementation and approving the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union (amended and supplemented).
The congress is expected to discuss three breakthroughs: Promoting dialogue and collective bargaining, focusing on wages, bonuses, working hours, rest hours, and occupational safety and hygiene. Focusing on developing union members and establishing grassroots unions in non-state enterprises. Building a team of grassroots union presidents to meet the requirements of the task, especially union presidents in non-state enterprises. The congress also increased discussion of major issues facing the trade union organization through 10 forums.
