Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy said that ethnic minorities are very excited to receive attention and implementation of the above program from the Party and State.
She assessed that after 4 years of implementation, the project has achieved many results: "Many typical traditional festivals of ethnic minorities have been preserved and promoted. Many intangible cultural heritage values in ethnic minority communities have been revived. Many traditional models have been invested in, linked to the livelihoods of ethnic minorities," Ms. Thuy stated.
Project 6 has 19 component tasks, covering many areas and support policies for the development of culture, sports, and tourism in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
The general objective of the project is to restore, preserve and promote traditional cultural values, train and develop cadres working in ethnic, cultural, sports and tourism; support cultural facilities and equipment for ethnic minority and mountainous areas to improve the level of cultural enjoyment for ethnic minorities associated with the development of community tourism.
The total central budget investment for project 6 is up to 3,160 billion VND, including construction investment capital of 1,806 billion VND and public service capital of 1,354 billion VND.
After 4 years of implementation, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also assessed that there are still many difficulties and problems with the above project.
For example, the disbursement rate for specific tasks in the project is still slow, not meeting the set requirements, only about 60% for investment capital and 63% for career capital.
At the conference, Mr. Ho Van Muoi - Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee - said that this province is home to 49 ethnic groups and possesses a rich cultural heritage.
Lam Dong province has 144 relics, including 3 special national relics, and many heritages recognized by UNESCO.
According to Mr. Muoi, Lam Dong province has the potential to become a national cultural and ecological tourism center.
He hopes that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to support and accompany to turn cultural heritage treasures into unique tourism products, connecting the community and attracting tourists.
