Meeting of the State Steering Committee for key projects and works in the Transport sector

On August 10, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired an online conference of the State Steering Committee for important national projects and works in the Transport sector. Attending at the provincial bridge point was Mr. Phan Tan Canh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

According to the report of the Ministry of Transport , up to now, the North-South Eastern Expressway project in the 2021-2025 period has handed over 89% of the land and can start construction at 80%. For the 5 East-West expressway and beltway projects that started construction in June 2023, many localities have achieved a high land handover rate.

Comrade Phan Tan Canh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended the conference at the bridge point of our province.

As for the North-South expressway project, the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao section through Ninh Thuan province, according to plan, the route will be completed by September 30, 2023 and the Nui Vung tunnel by March 31, 2024, but currently, a number of important items such as the overpass system, access roads, and Nui Vung tunnel still have a large volume of unfinished items, so the possibility of putting them into operation is delayed. Regarding the proposed plan to use Thanh Son military airport as a joint airport combining military and civil use, the People's Committee of Ninh Thuan province is requesting the Ministry of Transport to appraise and approve the task of planning Thanh Son Airport for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, so that the Provincial People's Committee has a basis to organize the planning of Thanh Son Airport.

Concluding the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested ministries, branches, units and localities to urgently focus on overcoming and resolving difficulties, completing procedures to put 69 mines into operation and assigning targets for supplying sand to the provinces. Ministries, branches and localities need to be more proactive and determined, focusing on removing difficulties and obstacles, in which priority should be given to implementing tasks such as: Completely resolving site clearance work according to required progress milestones; urgently completing the dossier on forest use purpose conversion, striving to complete the handover of the entire site in the third quarter of 2023. Provinces and cities urgently deploy work to implement the construction of all bidding packages of the 5 East-West expressway projects and ring roads in September 2023.
