Meeting to discuss plans to organize a national scientific conference to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory

The national scientific conference to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), is scheduled to take place on April 12, 2024, at the Dien Bien Provincial Convention Center. This is one of the important and practical activities to celebrate major holidays in 2024 in general and the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory in particular. The conference is organized to affirm and clarify the correct and creative viewpoints, thoughts and people's war guidelines of our Party, headed by President Ho Chi Minh. The acumen, creativity and decisiveness in the leadership and direction of the strategy and campaign of the Supreme Command, directly the Military Commission and the Commander-in-Chief. The historical context, plots and tricks of the French colonialists and the intervention of the US in the Winter-Spring of 1953 - 1954, especially in the organization and construction of the Dien Bien Phu stronghold. The role and great contributions of the armed forces and people of the whole country, of the ethnic groups in the Northwest, directly the army and people of Dien Bien province. The support and assistance of international friends for the resistance war of the Vietnamese people against the French colonialists. The stature, historical significance, reasons for victory; the peak development of Vietnamese military art in the resistance war against the French colonialists; drawing on historical experiences and lessons; applying and promoting lessons learned in the current cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

In order for the workshop to be of high quality, effective, and have content that ensures Party character, historical, objective, scientific , and worthy of the Dien Bien Phu victory, at the conference, after approving the draft plan to organize a national scientific workshop to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), delegates focused on discussing and reaching a high consensus on the contents stated in the plan, including: topics, content, location, participants of the workshop; activities on the sidelines of the workshop; propaganda work about the workshop; preparation of presentations; publishing workshop books; visiting the martyrs' cemetery of Dien Bien province; visiting and giving gifts to policy families; assigning and assigning specific tasks to agencies and units participating in organizing the workshop...

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Mua A Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, affirmed: The workshop is an important political event of national scale. The workshop is large-scale, with a large number of delegates attending. Therefore, the content program of the workshop and the activities on the sidelines of the workshop must be carefully prepared, meticulous, and of quality worthy of the event. As the locality hosting the workshop, he proposed to postpone the organization time 1 month earlier than the draft and promptly issue decisions and plans, and regularly let the Steering Committee's Working Group closely coordinate with Dien Bien province so that the organization of the workshop achieves the best results.
