On the afternoon of July 10, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Journalists Association , Mr. Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, had a meeting with Mr. Chavarong Limpattamapanee, President of the National Press Council of Thailand, senior advisor to the Federation of Thai Journalists as Head of the delegation who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

Mr. Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, had a meeting with Mr. Chavarong Limpattamapanee, President of the National Press Council of Thailand, senior advisor to the Federation of Thai Journalists and members of the delegation.

At the meeting with Mr. Chavarong Limpattamapanee and members of the delegation, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh briefly introduced the development history of Vietnamese journalism and the formation and development of the Vietnam Journalists Association.

After the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Journalists Association for the 2020-2025 term took place in 2021 and after the COVID-19 pandemic was gradually controlled, the Vietnam Journalists Association has had very exciting, strong activities with great influence...

In the first months of 2023, units of the Vietnam and Thailand Journalists Associations held meetings and exchanges, the local Journalists Association of Thailand visited and worked with the local Journalists Association of Vietnam and vice versa. Many conferences and seminars between the parties were also organized... Having such coordination activities is extremely important, not only helping the two sides increase mutual understanding but also strengthening cooperation and solidarity.

Leaders of the Federation of Thai Journalists presented gifts to Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Vietnam Journalists Association.

“In addition to the development of journalism in developed countries in Europe and America, the role and position of developing countries, especially in Southeast Asia, has recently increased. We believe that the Journalists Association and press agencies also need to strengthen cooperation to contribute to improving their position in the region,” said Mr. Le Quoc Minh.

Thanking the President of the Vietnam Journalists Association for taking the time to receive the delegation, Mr. Chavarong Limpattamapanee said that the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Thai Journalists Federation have a close relationship at all three levels. In addition to the relationship at the Confederation of ASEAN Journalists (CAJ), there is also a relationship between the Vietnam Journalists Association - the Thai Journalists Federation and Journalists Associations in localities.

The President of the Vietnam Journalists Association presented souvenirs to Mr. Chavarong Limpattamapanee and members of the delegation.

To continue to improve the effectiveness of cooperation, Mr. Chavarong Limpattamapanee proposed that the Journalists Association of the two countries continue to sign cooperation agreements with contents suitable to the current situation. Continue to open Vietnamese language classes for Thai journalists, organize professional exchange training for reporters between the two countries. Provide training to equip reporters with skills to work in natural disasters, reporters working in the digital age, and developing social networks... On this occasion, Mr. Chavarong Limpattamapanee also invited the President of the Vietnam Journalists Association and its members to visit Thailand in the near future.

Sharing the proposals of Mr. Chavarong Limpattamapanee, Mr. Le Quoc Minh said that Vietnam and Thailand are geographically close to each other, with many similarities. After the pandemic, the two sides also need to have cooperative activities, participate in training activities together, and improve professional journalism skills. Accessing modern journalism methods will be very beneficial for each journalist and reporter of the two countries. Especially in the current context, the press is facing new ways of journalism. The press must constantly innovate to keep up with the times and retain readers and audiences on digital platforms.

Regarding Mr. Chavarong Limpattamapanee's proposal that the two sides will participate in football activities and organize exchanges of the Voice of Journalists of the two countries, Mr. Le Quoc Minh said: "This is a good idea and the Vietnam Journalists Association is always ready to participate in these activities, journalist members across the country will actively respond and participate. However, to organize on a small or large scale, it will take time to continue to discuss more clearly."
