A few days after taking his children to Rafael Nadal's tennis academy summer camp, Federer and Nadal traveled to the resort of Pula in Mallorca, where the famous tennis duo spent hours hitting the golf course, where Nadal had played an amateur tournament last week.

On his personal Instagram on July 23, Federer excitedly shared a photo of himself and Nadal holding a golf club with a challenging status: "Does anyone want to compete with the two of us?".

The post quickly garnered more than 1 million likes, along with a series of comments from famous sports stars such as skier Lyndsey Vonn and tennis player Casper Ruud.

This "competition" on the golf course took place just one month after Federer, Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic were present at Roland Garros to attend Nadal's emotional retirement ceremony.

In a later interview, Nadal jokingly said that the legendary quartet could compete on the golf course, as they all know how to play the sport. "However, I would probably have to give them a handicap because my current level is higher," Nadal joked, referring to his superior golf skills.

Nadal will spend most of his time after retiring at the end of 2024 focusing on his tennis academy in Mallorca, raising his family and pursuing other sports. He regularly plays football with his son, goes fishing in the sea with friends and especially participates in golf tournaments.

Three years ago, Nadal said golf became more important as he got older and faced chronic pain in his left foot due to "Mueller-Weiss syndrome" - a degenerative bone disease.

Doctors once said that he would have to live with this disease for the rest of his life. "The current condition of my knees and feet prevents me from playing intense sports like soccer and rugby. Golf is fine, I can compete, and there are many social opportunities. Low level players can also compete with high level players thanks to handicap," Nadal confided.

The careers of two legends Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are living proof of the heights an athlete can reach. Before retiring in 2022, "Express Train" Federer had managed to leave his mark with impressive numbers: 103 major and minor titles, 1,251 wins, and especially a record 8 Wimbledon championships, the prestigious Grand Slam tournament on grass.

Meanwhile, the "King of Clay" Nadal is not far behind in terms of achievements. He owns a huge collection of 22 Grand Slam titles, notably a record 14 times winning the Roland Garros championship, an achievement that is difficult for anyone to surpass. These numbers not only demonstrate outstanding talent but also are proof of the perseverance and relentless fighting spirit of the two greatest tennis players in history.
