However, this user admitted that his iPhone 12 Pro Max "had a broken corner glass on the back". However, he did not declare this information on Apple's appraisal website.

Two days later, this person received an email from Apple with the content of the notification about the old-for-new value of the device at 0 VND. Notably, the email that Apple sent mixed two languages, English and Vietnamese.

In which, three important contents including Original instant trade-in credit (Old price changed to new initial price), Revised instant trade-in credit (Old price changed to new price after review) and Difference to be charged to (Difference between two prices) are all written in English.

This person believes that Apple intentionally used two languages ​​in the email to mislead him into thinking that his old iPhone was valued at 9.2 million VND. Therefore, he clicked the agree option without knowing that he had agreed to let Apple recycle his iPhone for 0 VND.

Users who are not fluent in English misunderstood the notification from Apple.

This story has spread quickly on social networks and received attention from many users and the technology industry. Ms. Phung Phuong, representative of Mobile World Media, said that before choosing Trade-in, users need to clearly understand the old-for-new exchange regulations to avoid unwanted situations.

"Due to language differences, users did not read Apple's notice carefully, leading to the above unfortunate incident. To feel more secure when trading in old for new, users need to choose a Trade-in address with quick procedures, all processes should be direct, users know clearly the price of their device when trading in, know clearly the difference in compensation... with good support policies", Ms. Phung Phuong shared.
