On September 28, Al Arabiya TV channel reported on the social network Telegram that the Israeli army said Muhammad Ali Ismail, commander of the Hezbollah missile unit in southern Lebanon, along with a number of other Hezbollah commanders and gunmen were killed in an Israeli airstrike.
Israel said Ismail was responsible for anti-Israeli actions, including rocket launches and the launch of a surface-to-surface missile into Israel on September 18. The Israeli military also said Muhammad Kabisi and several other senior Hezbollah missile leaders were also killed. Hezbollah has not yet confirmed or denied the information Israel provided.
Meanwhile, on the same day, the Lebanese Ministry of Health said that an Israeli airstrike on the Haret Hreik area in the southern suburbs of Beirut killed six people and injured 91. According to the Israeli army, they carried out a precision strike on Hezbollah's central headquarters, which they said was "located under residential buildings in the center of the Dahiyeh area" (southern suburb of Beirut). Seven residential buildings were destroyed in the targeted area.
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was the target of a massive Israeli airstrike in a Beirut suburb, leading Israeli television channels reported. A source close to Hezbollah said Hassan Nasrallah was safe after a massive Israeli airstrike.
On social network X, the Iranian Embassy in Lebanon posted an article saying that the Israeli airstrike on the southern suburbs of Beirut was a dangerous escalation that could change the situation and would “bring the perpetrators a suitable punishment”. Meanwhile, the United Nations said it was on alert for Israeli airstrikes on a “densely populated” area in the southern suburbs of the Lebanese capital Beirut.
