Art exchange – The thread connecting two regions

Taking place within the framework of the National Achievements Exhibition, the art exchange program became a meaningful highlight. The audience enjoyed the opening performance of the Cheo tune imbued with the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, with the sweet voice of Meritorious Artist Tran Thi Dieu (Huyen Dieu) through the song Returning to Ninh Binh land. Artists from the Ninh Binh Traditional Arts Theater continued with Cheo, Cheo Van, and Xam singing performances - unique folk art forms that captivated people's hearts.

From the southernmost land of the Fatherland, Ca Mau artists brought to the Capital the intangible cultural heritage of humanity - Don ca tai tu . The program was rich with many melodies: Nam, Bac, Oan, Ha, 16-beat vọng cổ, 32-beat vọng cổ, along with classic cải lương excerpts such as Tô Ánh Nguyệt. Those melodies not only praised the homeland and country but also honored the simple, generous and loyal beauty of the Ca Mau people - heroic in combat, diligent in labor.

In particular, artists from the two twin provinces also performed together, blending Southern folk melodies, creating a unique and emotional combination.

People's Artist Nguyen Van Thap (Nguyen Quang Thap), Director of the Ninh Binh Province Traditional Arts Theater, emotionally shared: "This cultural exchange activity is not simply a performance, but also a special event, a vivid demonstration of the close relationship between Ninh Binh and Ca Mau provinces."

Mr. Bui Van Chinh, an audience member from Dong Anh commune (Hanoi), said emotionally after the show: “I really admire the artists of Ca Mau, from the politeness in the reception to the performance. That is the very unique quality of the southernmost land of the Fatherland. I watched it once, and today I came back to watch it again, it was really impressive.”

In addition to the general exchanges, every night at the National Achievement Exhibition, the Ca Mau Provincial Cultural Center also organizes many special performances. The traditional music performances bear the strong imprint of the Southern rivers, rich in rhythm, leaving a deep echo.

In particular, the program also recreates the story of Uncle Ba Phi, a folk art form associated with the name of artist Nguyen Long Phi. The artists have selected typical stories such as The Turtle Ship, The Shrimp of Ca Mau, The King Crab, The Bee Fights the Enemy, The Lotus Trap... and then transformed them into five Cai Luong plays, bringing both witty laughter and interesting surprises to the audience.

Through the performances, the art troupes hope to contribute to honoring traditional cultural values, while promoting the image of Ca Mau land and people to friends and tourists at home and abroad. Each musical note and song not only conveys love for the homeland but also expresses the spirit of integration and the desire to develop for a prosperous future.
