The "independence"-themed stop at Lang Co railway station connecting Hue with Da Nang has strange decorations that surprise train passengers.

In recent days, passengers on the North-South train were surprised when the train stopped at Lang Co railway station.

Many passengers mistakenly think that Lang Co terminal space has been renovated.

However, this is a stopover in the project to restore the Revolution Express steam train (Indochina Railway Tourism Service Joint Stock Company).

The restaurant is designed with the independence theme at Lang Co station, one of the three stops of the Revolution Express steam train.

As planned, this project will restore two steam locomotives manufactured in the 1960s to run tourism from Da Nang - Hue station in 2025.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu Uyen, manager of Lang Co train station restaurant, said the Revolution Express steam train project aims to become a tourism product in the Central region.

According to the program design, in addition to tourists riding a steam train through the attractive mountain pass, the highlight of this journey is that tourists will experience themed meals at three stations along the journey: Kim Lien (Da Nang), Lang Co and Hue (Thua Thien Hue province).

Each station will have its own menu and entertainment schedule to welcome passengers from Revolution Express.

The stations operate according to 3 themes according to each historical period: at Hue station there is a royal - Hue palace theme, Kim Lien station has a colonial theme, Lang Co station has an independence theme to help passengers travel back in time on their journey.

According to Tuoi Tre Online , after opening this stop has also attracted the attention of railway passengers because of its new space and beautiful design.

However, because the stopover time at this station is quite short (except for the "Connecting Central Heritage" tourist train), visitors mainly come to take photos and buy take-away items.

Mr. Ho Dac Duc, a passenger on the Central Heritage Connection train, said the stop offers a new, different space compared to the traditional station.

Especially the decoration of themes that echo the heroic historical periods of the country.

At the same time, it is expected that there will be more train tourism products through Hai Van Pass to create more attraction for tourists.

"I think this decoration brings the atmosphere of the country's historical periods, which can help foreigners understand some of the values of Vietnam . If there are more new products on the train as well as stops, the railway industry will also attract tourists" - Mr. Duc said.
