Opening of the 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Dong Thap province

Attending the first working session were Mr. Phan Van Thang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Le Thanh Cong, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Mr. Dinh Van Dung, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.

Also attending the Congress were 282/289 official delegates, leaders of member organizations, representatives of ethnic groups, religions, dignitaries, intellectuals, businesses, outstanding individuals, and experts in various fields.

Speaking at the opening of the congress, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province Dinh Van Dung said that the preparation process for the Congress of Vietnam Fatherland Front delegates of the province has received the attention, leadership and direction of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Departments, units of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the coordination of the provincial departments, branches, and sectors, of the local Party Committee and authorities. In addition, there is the attention, monitoring and comments of former leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province through the periods and all classes of people in the province.

According to Mr. Dinh Van Dung, the congress has three tasks. One is to contribute opinions to the draft documents of the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; and to contribute opinions to amend and supplement the Charter of the 9th Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Second, review and evaluate objectively and comprehensively the achievements, limitations and shortcomings, and at the same time draw practical lessons through the implementation of the Resolution of the 9th Congress of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, on that basis, decide on the leadership direction for the next 5 years. Review the activities of the Committee and the Standing Committee of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, term 2019 - 2024

Third, democratic consultation elects members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Provincial Committee, term X, 2024 - 2029, and the Delegation to attend the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024 - 2029.

“With a high sense of responsibility before the Congress; with the slogan of action “Solidarity - Innovation - Companionship - Development”, I hope and believe that each delegate will promote their intelligence, strictly comply with the regulations and rules, well implement the working program of the Congress, contribute to the success of the Congress, meet the trust and expectations of Front officials in the entire system and all classes of people in the province”, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province Dinh Van Dung delivered the opening speech.

The 10th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Dong Thap province, term 2024 - 2029 took place in 2 days (August 19 and 20).

In the first working session (morning of August 19), the Congress consulted to elect the Presidium and Secretary of the Congress; approved the Program and regulations of the Congress; and asked for opinions on the voting form in the Congress.

The Congress also heard the Summary of the draft Summary Report for the 2019 - 2024 term; directions, goals and action program for the 2024 - 2029 term; Report reviewing the activities of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, term IX, term 2019 - 2024; Report synthesizing comments on the draft Political Report to be submitted to the 10th Provincial Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024 - 2029; Report synthesizing comments on the draft Documents of the 10th National Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; comments on amending and supplementing the Charter of the 9th term of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Also in the first working session, the Congress listened to the speech of the Provincial People's Committee leaders on the local socio -economic situation and coordination work with the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in the 2019-2024 term.
