Opening of the 2025 National Youth Sailing and Stand-Up Paddleboard Championship

VHO - On the morning of September 6, in Da Nang, the Vietnam Sailing Federation coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City and related units to open the National Youth Sailing Championship, the National Youth Stand-up Paddleboard (SUP) Championship and the National Club Cup 2025.

The tournament attracted more than 70 athletes from 9 provinces and cities across the country. The competition contents include: Sailing Race with 10 individual and pair categories for men and women, spanning across the Optimist, Laser and 470 boat types;

The National Youth Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Championship with 14 events for ages 10 to 21 at distances from 200m to 3000m; and the National Club Cup Stand Up Paddleboard Championship with 15 events for various age groups on both inflatable and hard boards.

The tournament attracted more than 70 athletes from 9 provinces and cities across the country.

The weather in Da Nang on the morning of September 6 was beautiful, favorable for athletes to compete.

Mr. Tran Cong Tu, Director of the Da Nang City Sports Center, said that for many years, Da Nang has always been chosen to host national rowing competitions thanks to its favorable natural conditions and infrastructure.

These tournaments have contributed to affirming prestige and professional quality, and at the same time making Da Nang a center for organizing, training and developing the marine sports movement of the whole country.

Mr. Tu emphasized that the stand-up paddleboard movement in Da Nang has grown strongly in recent years, becoming a familiar activity for locals and tourists. This tournament not only attracts more local participants but also contributes to widely promoting marine sports, associated with the city's goal of developing tourism and marine economy .

Through the tournament, the aim is to promote the exercise movement in the community, especially among young people.
