Opening of the Tran Thuong Temple Traditional Festival in 2023

On the evening of September 30 (ie August 16, Quy Mao year), at Tran Thuong Temple, Tran Hung Dao Commune, Ly Nhan District, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the People's Committee of Ly Nhan District, and the Management Board of the Tran Thuong Temple National Special Relic solemnly held the opening ceremony of the Tran Thuong Temple Traditional Festival 2023. Attending the opening ceremony were comrade Truong Quoc Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; comrades of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of departments and branches of the province, Ly Nhan District, and a large number of people and tourists from all over.

The Tran Thuong Temple Festival in 2023 takes place from August 16 to 20, Quy Mao year, with traditional rituals imbued with national cultural identity, such as: The Saint's worship ceremony of local groups and people; releasing flower lanterns at Tran Thuong Lake; the spiritual ceremony on the death anniversary of Saint Tran... Besides the spiritual rituals, during the festival days, there will be many cultural, artistic and sports activities, such as: The contest of "I love my homeland's history"; Tran Thuong Festival Night; the contest of cooking offerings to the Saint; organizing chess tournaments, tug of war and folk games"...

Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan was an outstanding military leader of the Tran Dynasty. He was highly regarded by King Tran Nhan Tong and appointed as Commander of the naval and land forces, defeating the Yuan-Mongol army three times. The victory of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan and the army and people of the Tran Dynasty contributed to putting an end to the peak period of the Yuan-Mongol army at that time. With his military talent, he was honored by the world as one of the 10 most talented generals of all time; with great contributions to the nation, the Royal Court honored him as Grand Tutor, Grand Duke, and Nhan Vu Hung Dao Dai Vuong. The people of the whole country respected and honored him as a Saint - Saint Tran in their minds as the "Holy Father" of all people; the name and contributions of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan have left a bright mark in the history of the Vietnamese nation.

In memory of the great contributions to the country and people of Hung Dao Dai Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan, the festival is held every year on the anniversary of his death to remind generations of the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", to educate the tradition of patriotism and fighting foreign invaders. At the same time, it contributes to introducing, promoting and enhancing the position of the special National Monument of Tran Thuong Temple to the people and tourists from all over the world.
