Maximizing tourism potential

Accordingly, the province is oriented to focus on investing in forming key tourist clusters such as Tri An Lake, Chua Chan Mountain, Ba Ra Mountain, Bom Bo Village, War Zone D, Ta Thiet Base, Bu Gia Map National Park, etc. At the same time, research is being done to build international-class conference and resort centers in the communes surrounding Long Thanh International Airport.

Decisions that "shape" the tourism industry

Before the merger, the former Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai provinces were assessed to have great potential for tourism development but had not been exploited to their full potential. With the desire to develop tourism, both localities have made important decisions for the local tourism industry.

Specifically, at the end of 2021, the former Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution 04-NQ/TU (Resolution 04) on developing tourism into an important economic sector of the province. Resolution 04 became the driving force for the entire political system to take action to implement solutions to promote local tourism development.

With the advantages of forests, waterfalls, mountains, lakes, rivers, along with impressive results in the top of new rural construction, the old Dong Nai province has gradually launched eco-tourism products to explore nature, culture and the strengths of each locality in the spirit of Resolution 04. The province has mobilized many resources to invest in tourism to create a breakthrough, develop high-quality, classy, focused and key tourism; focusing on developing 3 types of tourism: eco-tourism, agricultural - rural tourism and spiritual tourism to create a brand for Dong Nai tourism. At the same time, Dong Nai also focuses on developing both domestic and international tourism; creating favorable conditions for people and domestic and foreign tourists to visit, learn and explore Dong Nai's scenic spots and culture.

In the old Binh Phuoc province, the Binh Phuoc Province Tourism Development Project for the period 2021-2025, with a vision to 2030 (Tourism Development Project) was also issued based on the advantages of forest ecotourism, cultural and historical relics, etc.

Accordingly, the old Binh Phuoc province has a strategic geographical location, has convenient traffic routes and plays an important role; it is the gateway connecting and exchanging economy, culture and society of the Southeast region with the Central Highlands and Cambodia - Laos - Thailand. The geographical location, natural characteristics, climate, soil, historical and cultural traditions of the locality have created a relatively diverse and rich source of tourism resources.

Creating identity for Dong Nai tourism

With a systematic tourism development strategy, in recent years, Dong Nai province has had tourism products that are typical of Dong Nai's nature, culture and people such as: eco-tourism products to explore forests in the communes of Bu Gia Map, Nam Cat Tien, Dinh Quan...; spiritual and source tourism products in the communes of Loc Ninh, Loc Thanh, Tri An, Nhon Trach; agricultural and rural tourism models in the wards and communes of Binh Loc, Tan Trieu, Xuan Bac, Bu Gia Map...

Ms. Nguyen Tran Thao Van from Tan Thoi Hiep Ward, Ho Chi Minh City has visited many tourist attractions in Dong Nai every time she has the opportunity to visit family and friends in Bien Hoa Ward. Among the destinations in Dong Nai, she was impressed with Cat Tien National Park, Binh Loc Fruit Garden, Tri An Lake... According to Ms. Van, these are beautiful landscapes as well as attractions that are rarely found anywhere else.

To create more world-class tourism products, Dong Nai province is stepping up the review, planning and calling for investment in locations with great potential for tourism development and trade development integrated into the Dong Nai Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, to serve as a basis for calling for and selecting investors to ensure transparency, projects and the best ideas to effectively exploit the potential and advantages of tourism when Long Thanh Airport is put into operation.

Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province Le Thi Ngoc Loan said: The Department is actively advising the Provincial People's Committee as well as strengthening propaganda and mobilizing destinations and households with potential for tourism development to build typical tourism products, in order to diversify local tourism products.

The province is focusing on building a number of key tourism products based on the province's advantages, including: eco-tourism - resort, cultural - spiritual tourism, agricultural - rural tourism; focusing on developing ancillary tourism products, including culinary tourism, health care tourism, shopping tourism, etc.

Dong Nai is one of the gateways to the major tourist center of Ho Chi Minh City, one of the leading growth poles of Vietnam tourism. In recent times, Dong Nai has made great efforts in promoting, advertising, building products, and boosting the development of tourism to become one of the important economic sectors of the locality.

Dong Nai tourism is ready to "take off"

In the period of 2025-2030, Dong Nai province will synchronously deploy solutions to realize two driving forces: industrial development with the core of attracting strategic, new-generation investors, filling existing industrial parks and continuing to attract potential industrial parks, prioritizing high-tech industries, green industries, and supporting industries; service development with the core being the Long Thanh Airport Integrated Service Urban Area, including a free trade zone and an ecosystem of aviation - logistics - trade - tourism services.

In the coming time, Dong Nai will actively promote the development of culture, sports and tourism on par with economic development. Build and comprehensively develop an advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity, build Dong Nai people to be comprehensively developed, friendly, affectionate, dynamic, creative, and integrated; imbued with patriotic and humane traditions, strongly arousing love for family, homeland, and Fatherland; enhance the will to be self-reliant, self-reliant and the aspiration to develop into a rich, strong, democratic, civilized, and happy people.

Dong Nai province determines to develop cultural industry, develop high-quality cultural, sports and tourism products and services, associated with strengthening cooperation and association with provinces in the region, neighboring countries and other countries to expand cultural exchange, art exchange, promote the image, land, people and culture of Dong Nai to the international community. At the same time, use technology to promote Dong Nai cultural products to increase accessibility for people and tourists at home and abroad.

Promoting cooperation in developing inter-regional tourism routes, tourism associated with cultural heritages and historical relics; taking advantage of forest, river, lake and mountain resources to develop tourism types, effectively exploiting rural tourism with historical elements and indigenous cultural experiences. Speaking at the working session with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai province on July 18, 2025, comrade Le Truong Son, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested: The industry needs to pay attention to digital transformation in the field of tourism, promoting and introducing destinations of Dong Nai. In addition, there needs to be a roadmap to upgrade, restore, embellish and digitize artifacts at relic sites to preserve and promote the values of relics and scenic spots in the province, ensuring the implementation of task requirements, while contributing to creating diversity and attracting tourists to visit when coming to Dong Nai.
