Khanh Hoa is a land known as "Land of Agarwood - Sea of Bird's Nest", the bird's nest industry in this locality has been recorded for nearly 700 years, containing unique historical and cultural values, which are very important to the people, as well as the local socio-economic development.

The knowledge of exploiting and processing bird's nests in the community is a precious treasure that has both cultural value and significance for the local socio-economic development. Many customs and beliefs commemorating and showing gratitude to the ancestors of the profession and the predecessors who have worked hard to foster development are still preserved and practiced in today's life.

Every year on the 10th day of the 5th lunar month, Khanh Hoa people hold a festival at Hon Noi Island to commemorate the great merits of their ancestors who founded and developed the bird's nest industry. The bird's nest festival has also become one of the traditional festivals of the local people. The professional folk knowledge in the exploitation and processing of bird's nests needs to be preserved and protected for future generations./.
