Inauguration of the Temple of National Hero Hoang Hoa Tham and Yen The Insurgents

On March 16, Yen The district, Bac Giang province solemnly held the inauguration ceremony of the Temple of National Hero Hoang Hoa Tham and Yen The insurgents.

This is an activity within the framework of the 140th Anniversary of the Yen The Uprising (1884 - 2024). The ceremony was attended by Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh ; Party Central Committee Secretary, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai, along with representatives of leaders of central ministries, departments, branches, Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, leaders of Bac Giang province, Yen The district and a large number of people and tourists from all over.

Implementing the Project of Preservation, restoration, embellishment and promotion of the value of special national historical relics, Yen The Uprising sites, Temple of National Hero Hoang Hoa Tham and Yen The insurgents, and completed auxiliary works, with a total investment of nearly 184.8 billion VND.

In particular, the construction of the Temple of National Hero Hoang Hoa Tham and Yen The insurgents was started on May 19, 2023, with an investment capital of nearly 100 billion VND from socialized sources, chaired, mobilized and sponsored by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Thanh Loi Construction Investment Trading Company.

The building has an H-shaped ground plan including the Front Hall, Central Palace and Rear Palace.

The Front Hall has 5 compartments with an area of 290 square meters. The Central Hall has a square-style architecture with an area of 92 square meters. The Rear Hall has 3 compartments, a surrounding corridor, with an area of 200 square meters.

The auxiliary works of the Temple complex of National Hero Hoang Hoa Tham and Yen The insurgents include: yard, steps; bell tower, drum tower; left and right wing houses; restoration of Hoang Thi The's tomb... with an investment capital of 84.8 billion VND, from the provincial and district budgets.

The main materials used for the items are wood and green stone, combined with ancient bricks; ensuring consistency with Hoang Hoa Tham Temple to create a complete complex with high architectural and aesthetic value.

Along with the above projects, Bac Giang province and Yen The district have been implementing a number of other important projects from the central budget, provincial budget and partly socialized sources such as: Three-story communal house, project to recreate and restore Phon Xuong citadel relic... with a total cost of nearly 100 billion VND.

During the implementation of the projects, especially the Temple of National Hero Hoang Hoa Tham and the auxiliary works, the investor and construction units have devoted much enthusiasm and responsibility; at the same time, determined to overcome all difficulties, completing the project 3 months ahead of schedule.

At the ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Duc Thien, Vice President and General Secretary of the Central Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and representatives of Thanh Loi Construction Investment Trading Company (the sponsor) presented the key to open the Temple to representatives of Yen The district leaders.

After the ceremony, delegates respectfully offered incense to commemorate National Hero Hoang Hoa Tham and the insurgents.

The Temple of National Hero Hoang Hoa Tham and other items in the complex are a collection of spiritual and cultural works with traditional architecture. Many of them are elaborately and meticulously executed, deeply depicting cultural and spiritual values, imbued with national identity.

The completed project will ensure harmonious connection with the existing system of relics and landscapes; adding to the significance and value of the special national historical relic complex at the center of the Yen Uprising Headquarters in the past.

This place will become one of the attractive destinations for people and tourists from all over when coming to Bac Giang as well as Yen The; an address to educate cultural and historical traditions, honoring national hero Hoang Hoa Tham and the insurgents.

It is also a sacred place for tourists and local people to remember and send their wishes for peace and goodness.
