SAR 631 ship commanded the scene to search at sea, mobilizing vehicles in the area to urgently check the areas.
Discovered 2 fishermen's bodies
Identification work has been carried out urgently, verifying the identities of the victims: Mr. Tran Van Tho, a fisherman of BV 92756 TS, and Mr. Nguyen Van Can, a fisherman of BV 92754 TS.
Previously, due to the impact of storm No. 10, at 11:30 p.m. on September 28, 2025, two fishing boats BV 82756 TS and BV 92754 TS (with a total of 13 crew members) broke their anchor rope, drifted out to sea and sank, causing 9 fishermen to go missing, 4 fishermen swam to shore in the waters of Ly Hoa, Quang Tri province.
SAR 631 ship is searching in Cua Gianh area.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center dispatched the Center's SAR 631 ship to the scene, performing the role of commanding the scene of search and rescue at sea, coordinating with local forces, including 3 vehicles of the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard to deploy the search according to the established search and rescue plan, covering a search area of 180 square nautical miles from Cua Gianh to Con Co Island.
At the same time, the Center organized two mobile search and rescue teams on shore, in coordination with the Quang Tri Border Guard, Quang Tri Maritime Port Authority and relevant agencies to search along the Gianh River estuary and coastal areas from Gianh River to near Nhat Le River estuary, using equipment such as drones, wire guns and night vision goggles to expand the search area. By 8:30 a.m. on September 30, the search and rescue team had discovered two bodies.
The BV 92756 TS ship was discovered drifting ashore at Thanh Hai village, Bac Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Tri, about 50 meters from shore and about 4.8 kilometers from the original anchorage, in an upside down state.
The search and rescue team has mobilized 3 specialized cranes, 1 excavator and equipment to open the access road and proceed to lift and pull the ship in distress.
Search and rescue forces synchronously deployed professional measures combining searches along the coast, at sea and from the air using drones.
However, due to the ship's hull and stern being deeply buried in sand, along with its large weight and broken cables, the salvage effort has not been successful for the time being. Currently, relevant units are developing a new plan, using specialized equipment to continue the salvage effort, checking for the possibility of crew members trapped inside.
The search for victims with search teams at sea and inshore is being actively deployed by authorities./.
