Inauguration of Phu Tho Circus and Multi-Purpose Performance Hall – A typical project to celebrate National Day

On the morning of August 19, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City coordinated with the Management Board of Investment and Construction Projects for Civil and Industrial Works to solemnly hold the inauguration ceremony of Phu Tho Circus and Multi-Purpose Performance Hall (Lu Gia Street, Phu Tho Ward). This is a typical project to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).

The Phu Tho Circus and Multi-purpose Performance Theater project was directed by the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to invest and build with an area of ^10,000m2 , with a modern scale and architecture according to international standards. The total investment is 1,395 billion VND, with 2 basements and 12 floors above ground, with a total height of 57.5m. The total floor area is nearly 29,500m². In which, the main auditorium has 2,000 seats with a central stage, a ceiling height of about 24m, integrated with a modern sound - light - stage mechanical system, meeting complex performance techniques such as flying trapeze, hanging, controlled falling on the lifting - lowering stage floor system, lake, ice rink;...

The technical highlight of the project is the over-span floor system on floors 6, 7, and 8, requiring advanced construction solutions to ensure maximum safety and stability for heavy-duty stage operations. The traffic flow, escape, and fire protection systems are designed to international standards.

The Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City and its affiliated unit, the City Arts Center, were assigned by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to manage, operate, and determine the vision to turn Phu Tho Circus and Multi-purpose Performance Theater into a branded cultural institution of the city. The operating model will combine core content (circus, puppetry, multimedia performing arts) with diverse events such as: musicals, ballets, concerts, festivals, television programs, conferences, exhibitions, etc.

The exploitation strategy is aimed at a regular weekly performance schedule for key programs; organizing international events and festivals such as art festivals, tours, music festivals; being a cultural and artistic venue presenting educational and experiential content (workshops, "Backstage" tours, art classes...); exploiting various types of services: conferences, galas, product launches, thematic exhibitions; organizing community activities with "Open Space Days" for schools, art clubs, creative groups...
