Inauguration of the art statue of musician Trinh Cong Son on the Perfume River

On the afternoon of February 28, at Trinh Cong Son Park, the People's Committee of Hue City held the inauguration ceremony of the art statue and a Trinh Cong Son music performance program. The event was attended by leaders of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province, leaders of the People's Committee of Hue City, and many people and Trinh music lovers.

The statue of the late musician Trinh Cong Son was installed at Trinh Cong Son Park, on one side of the poetic Huong River.

The inauguration ceremony of the art statue and the Trinh Cong Son music performance were held on the occasion of the 85th birthday of the late musician Trinh Cong Son (February 28, 1939 - February 28, 2001) - a talented son of Hue - to commemorate, recognize and honor his contributions to Vietnamese modern music in general and to Hue in particular; at the same time, creating a highlight in terms of landscape and tourism for Hue City.

According to the People's Committee of Hue City, the artistic statue of musician Trinh Cong Son is a sculpture created by the late sculptor Truong Dinh Que. The statue is made of bronze, 1.7m high, 1.6m wide, 2.3m long, and weighs 500kg. It was designed with the advice of Architect Ho Viet Vinh and his team and was donated to Hue City by Mr. Le Hung Manh, Chairman of the Board of Members and General Director of Gia Hoa Construction and Housing Business Company (HCMC).

Mr. Truong Dinh Hanh, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee, said that recently, Hue City has made efforts to renovate Trinh Cong Son Park to contribute to beautifying the general landscape of Hue city and the space of the Perfume River bank - indispensable images in Trinh's music, so that this place is suitable and commensurate with the position and meaning of placing Trinh Cong Son's statue. The place where the statue of the late musician Trinh Cong Son is located will also be a stop for those who admire the late musician's talent to have the opportunity to learn more about his life and career.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee, presented flowers and thanked Mr. Le Hung Manh, who donated the statue of the late musician Trinh Cong Son to Hue City.

At the ceremony, the leaders of Hue City People's Committee acknowledged and thanked Mr. Le Hung Manh, Architect Ho Viet Vinh and his colleagues, especially the family of the late musician Trinh Cong Son for giving Hue special affection during the past time and always accompanying Hue City in cultural and artistic events related to musician Trinh Cong Son in Hue.

The locality pledged to continue to complete Trinh Cong Son Park according to the plan, to continue to arrange the memorabilia of the late musician Trinh Cong Son. In the future, Trinh Cong Son Park will be an attractive destination for the public and a place for Trinh music lovers to exchange music and meet.

Immediately after the statue inauguration ceremony, Hue City People's Committee coordinated with the family of the late musician Trinh Cong Son to organize the art program "Afternoon in my homeland". The program brought to the audience the lifetime compositions of the late musician Trinh Cong Son through the performances of many famous artists such as singer Duc Tuan, singer Giang Trang, singer Tan Son, singer La Anh Thu, Hue Trumpet Team... The performance received the attention and following of many people and Trinh music lovers.
