Groundbreaking ceremony of the project of the road leading to Ha Tien City General Port

On the afternoon of June 22, the People's Committee of Ha Tien City (Kien Giang Province) coordinated with relevant units to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of the project of the road leading to Ha Tien City General Port - a key traffic project to promote socio-economic development, tourism and trade in the region.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Nhan affirmed that this is a strategic driving force project in connecting infrastructure and developing the Ha Tien border gate economic zone, while preparing to serve the 2027 APEC Conference in Phu Quoc.

"The province commits to providing maximum support to complete the project on schedule, ensuring quality and efficiency," Mr. Nhan emphasized.

He also called on departments, branches, Ha Tien City People's Committee and people in the project area to coordinate and reach consensus to soon put the project into operation, creating a breakthrough momentum for Ha Tien City and Kien Giang province.

The project has a total investment of VND 1,177 billion from the central and provincial budgets, to be implemented in the 2024-2027 period, divided into two phases.

Phase 1 : Construction of a 1.8km long sea encroachment road with a 15m wide road surface and a 240m long sea bridge.

Phase 2 : Continue to invest in a nearly 2.9km long section, 25m wide road surface.

The route connects from Nui Den road to the general port area, serving the transportation of goods and passengers to the islands and neighboring countries such as Cambodia and Thailand.
