Prosecuted 2 subjects using computer network to appropriate 80 billion VND...

On October 3, the Investigation Security Agency, Dak Lak Provincial Police, announced that the unit had just issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute two suspects to investigate the act of using computer networks, telecommunications networks, and electronic devices to appropriate property.

The two subjects prosecuted include: Tran The Huy, born in 1992, Executive Director, and his younger sister Tran Thi My Hoang, born in 1994, Financial Director of Huy Hoang FN Service Limited Liability Company. Both are siblings and reside in Binh Khe commune, Gia Lai province.

According to the initial investigation results, since 2022, Tran The Huy has opened 9 branches of the company in Gia Lai, Dak Lak , Quang Ngai provinces, Ho Chi Minh City to sign contracts with financial companies and associated banks to advise on opening credit cards and lending cash to customers to receive commissions from associated partners.

To get customers, Huy and Hoang bought tens of thousands of customer data including full names, phone numbers, and addresses, then assigned company employees to pretend to be bank employees to make calls to advise customers on opening and withdrawing money from credit cards.

After people successfully opened the card, Huy's staff instructed customers to activate the card, and at the same time enticed customers to withdraw cash through the opened bank card by creating fake purchase invoices to pay on the payment applications such as Ngan Luong, MPOS, VNPay, etc. For each withdrawal like that, Huy Hoang FN company charged a fee of 5% to 10% on the withdrawal amount of the cardholders.

With the above tricks, from 2022 to present, Huy Hoang FN Service Limited Liability Company has consulted and opened more than 200,000 credit cards and instructed people to withdraw over 800 billion VND, thereby appropriating about 80 billion VND from thousands of people.

Based on the collected documents and evidence, the Investigation Security Agency, Dak Lak Provincial Police, has issued a decision to prosecute Tran The Huy and Tran Thi My Hoang for using computer networks, telecommunications networks, and electronic devices to appropriate property. At the same time, it has issued a 4-month temporary detention order for Tran The Huy to investigate and a house arrest order for Tran Thi My Hoang because she is pregnant.

Dak Lak Provincial Police announced that anyone who is a victim of Huy Hoang FN Service Company Limited should contact the Investigation Security Agency, Dak Lak Provincial Police for guidance and coordination in providing information to clarify the criminal acts of the subjects.
