Prosecution and temporary detention of a group of subjects who assaulted the owner of a dental clinic

On the afternoon of July 29, the People's Procuracy of Region 1, Quang Tri province approved the decision to prosecute the accused and order the temporary detention of a group of subjects who assaulted the owner of a dental clinic, causing a stir in public opinion in Hoan Lao commune, for the crime of "intentionally causing injury".

According to the case file, due to previous conflicts in business and daily life, at about 3:30 p.m. on March 19, 2025, after eating and drinking together, Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1995), residing in village 1, Lam Trach commune, Bo Trach district, former Quang Binh province, (now Phong Nha commune, Quang Tri province) initiated and invited Nguyen Van Chung (born in 1997), residing in village 7, Ha My commune, Bo Trach district, former Quang Binh province (now Bac Trach commune, Quang Tri province) and Doan Van Quan (born in 1994), residing in village 6, Lam Trach commune, Bo Trach district, former Quang Binh province, (now Phong Nha commune, Quang Tri province) to go together to the dental clinic "Sai Gon Dentist", in Phuc Tu Dong village, Dai Trach commune, Bo Trach district, former Quang Binh province, (now Hoan Lao commune, Quang Tri province) to look for Mr. Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1996), residing in village 2, Lam Trach commune, Bo Trach district, old Quang Binh province (now Phong Nha commune, Quang Tri province) to talk and threaten. Before leaving, Nguyen Van Chung brought a knife.

At about 4:45 p.m. the same day, when arriving in front of the "Saigon Dentist" dental clinic, the group of subjects entered the clinic. At this time, Mr. Hung was performing a dental examination on a child, the group of subjects began to curse and then rushed in to hit Mr. Hung in the back of the head and in front of him.

When Mr. Hung ran to the corner of the clinic, he was grabbed by Hung, then the group dragged Mr. Hung out to Highway 1 in front of the clinic door and continued to beat him. Chung used a knife to slash Mr. Hung many times, causing injuries.

According to the assessment results, Mr. Hung's injury rate is 13%.
