Some newspapers and news sites reported that singer Nathan Lee bought the exclusive rights to exploit several songs by musician Do Hieu such as: Wipe Away Tears, Cause I Love You, Please Don't Let Go and Bury a Dream.

It is worth mentioning that this singer also shared the purpose and meaning of buying songs: "I do not do anything secretly, but all legal processes have clear and transparent contracts. I create food for musicians with respect and fairness with their intelligence. I do not buy hit songs to win or lose. I buy because I respect music and the people who create it."

Responding to VietNamNet reporter, musician Do Hieu's representative expressed surprise, affirming that there was no such thing as Nathan Lee "buying out" singer Noo Phuoc Thinh's hit song.

"Mr. Nathan Lee texted, saying he wanted to cover this song, so musician Do Hieu - the author and owner of the works - agreed to let him sing it again. We do not have an official commercial contract regarding the exclusive exploitation of these songs," she said.

Previously, in 2021, Nathan Lee attracted attention when he bought the exclusive exploitation rights to the songs Rainy Road, Purple Crystal, Return of Love, Rainbow After Rain ... (composed by Nguyen Van Chung) associated with the name of singer Cao Thai Son.

The most recent similar incident was when Mr. Gerard Richard Williams - singer Bich Tuyen's husband - "bought out" the exclusive performance rights to the song "Xin loi tinh yeu" (composed by Minh Nhien), which was a hit song by singer Dam Vinh Hung.
