Kien Giang: Hundreds of candidates crossed the ocean to take the important exam

(NLDO) - The exam papers are kept in iron boxes, locked and sealed securely, and are always protected by police officers before being taken to the exam sites in Kien Giang.

On June 25, more than 140 students from Hon Tre, Lai Son and An Son island communes in Kien Hai district, Kien Giang province settled down, getting ready to take the high school graduation exam tomorrow.

142 students from Kien Giang islands crossed the sea to the mainland to take the 2025 high school graduation exam.

These special candidates traveled nearly 100 km by sea to Rach Gia city by speedboat to take the 2025 high school graduation exam.

As soon as they arrived at Rach Gia wharf, the candidates were taken by officers and soldiers of Kien Giang Provincial Police to the exam site of Huynh Man Dat High School for the Gifted - where they will officially take the exam.

This year, Kien Giang has 15,667 candidates registered for the exam, including 535 independent candidates. The locality organized 30 exam sites with a total of 686 exam rooms.

Kien Giang Provincial Police support to transport candidates from the islands to their accommodation and exam places.

In particular, in Phu Quoc City, there are 3 exam sites. Because the exam takes place during the rainy season, the weather is unpredictable, and the means of transportation to and from the island are not guaranteed, the Provincial High School Graduation Exam Steering Committee does not assign teachers from the mainland to Phu Quoc to supervise the exam, but instead uses teachers from local high schools and middle schools to supervise the exam.

Police transport 2025 high school graduation exam papers to Phu Quoc by speedboat

On the afternoon of June 24, the 2025 high school graduation exam papers were also taken by authorities to a speedboat, traveling more than 120 km by sea to Phu Quoc to serve the exam sites on this island.

The exam papers are kept in iron boxes, securely sealed and guarded by police all the way from the Kien Giang Department of Education and Training to the exam sites.

Previously, the Provincial High School Graduation Exam Steering Committee had a backup plan for transporting exam papers to Phu Quoc Island in case the ship temporarily stopped operating due to bad weather and rough seas. There was a plan to transport exam papers by car from Rach Gia City to Ho Chi Minh City to travel to Phu Quoc by air.

This year's high school graduation exam in Phu Quoc also coincided with many major local events, such as the first traditional Phu Quoc Fish Sauce Festival and the celebration of the establishment of Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone.
