According to KMA, the government's announcement is an attempt to address the current situation but is not a fundamental solution to address the current health crisis.

Previously, the South Korean government accepted proposals from presidents of national universities, allowing all 32 medical colleges and universities nationwide, which allocate 2,000 new medical admission slots, to cut up to 50% of the initially allocated quota in 2025.
