Commemorating the 76th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's "Call for Patriotic Emulation" (June 11, 1948)

With a concise, concise, easy-to-understand but very profound and complete writing style, President Ho Chi Minh's "Call for Patriotic Emulation" is a call, attracting and motivating the entire Party, the entire people and the entire army to promote the tradition of patriotism, the will of self-reliance, self-strengthening, ready to overcome all sacrifices and hardships, and to successfully complete tasks in each revolutionary stage. Implementing President Ho Chi Minh's "Call for Patriotic Emulation", Thanh Hoa enthusiastically took the lead in emulation movements and achieved many outstanding results. During the resistance war against the French colonialists, despite many difficulties in Thanh Hoa's rear, millions of tons of food and provisions were still supplied to the frontline, 57,000 young men enlisted, more than 1 million frontline laborers were mobilized, transporting food, provisions, and weapons day and night to serve the battlefield, contributing with the whole country to make the historic victory of Dien Bien Phu "famous in five continents, shaking the earth".

During the resistance war against the US to save the country, Thanh Hoa was one of the localities that had to directly confront the enemy's destructive war. Following the call of the Party and Uncle Ho, the army and people of Thanh Hoa bravely fought 10,158 battles, shot down 367 planes, captured 36 pilots, and burned 57 warships. During those historic years, places such as Ham Rong, Do Len, Lach Truong, Pha Ghep; the selfless fighting examples of the militiamen of Nam Ngan, Yen Vuc, of the old militiaman Hoang Truong, the female militiamen of Hoa Loc, Thanh Thuy, Ha Phu... And, countless other outstanding children of Thanh Hoa bravely fought, becoming noble symbols of revolutionary heroism in the Ho Chi Minh era. With its enormous contributions in the resistance war against France and the US to save the country, Thanh Hoa was honored to receive many noble awards from the Party and State: Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Gold Star Order, Ho Chi Minh Order...

In the health sector, there are movements: "Doctors are like mothers", "Implementing the 12 medical ethics", "Applying advanced medical achievements to care for and protect people's health". In the education and training sector, there are movements: "Two goods", "Innovation and creativity in teaching and learning". In the defense and security sector, there are movements: "Emulation to win", "Promoting tradition, dedicating talent, worthy of Uncle Ho's soldiers"... From the patriotic emulation movements, many typical and advanced collectives and individuals have emerged, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility; taking the lead in performing tasks in localities, agencies and units. Along with emulation, localities, agencies and units have also promptly rewarded outstanding collectives and individuals, creating motivation to promote the increasingly flourishing patriotic emulation movement.

76 years have passed since Uncle Ho issued the "Call for Patriotic Emulation", which is also the same amount of time that call has permeated and spread into life, multiplying countless good deeds, typical advanced examples; to produce great fruits and achievements. Thanh Hoa has every right to be proud of becoming a bright spot of the whole country on the socio-economic development scale with many achieved targets in the top group, which is exciting. The clear proof is that in 2023, the growth rate of total product in the area (GRDP) of Thanh Hoa reached 7.01%, ranking 3rd in the group of provinces and cities with the largest GRDP scale in the country; State budget revenue reached 40,310 billion VND, ranking 8th in the provinces and cities with the highest total budget revenue in the country. All economic sectors have improved, many important economic indicators have increased significantly compared to the same period.

With great determination, high responsibility, and many synchronous solutions, in the first quarter of 2024, the province's economy grew highly and quite evenly in all fields. In particular, the GRDP growth rate reached 13.15%, ranking 3rd in the country and the first quarter with the highest growth rate since 2020. Industrial production value increased by 25.99%, continuing to affirm its role as a growth engine of the economy. Import and export activities increased sharply, with an estimated export value of over 1.376 billion USD, the highest increase in the 4 years of implementing the 2021-2025 plan. Key education and high-performance sports recorded many outstanding achievements; social security was ensured, and people's lives were constantly improved.

Born 76 years ago, President Ho Chi Minh's "Call for Patriotic Emulation" still retains its historical significance, profound theoretical and practical values.
