On July 7, in response to information spreading on social networks about a hot air balloon carrying 9 people having to make an emergency landing on the road in Tay Dang town (Ba Vi district, Hanoi ), the authorities clarified this incident.

According to the representative of Tay Dang Town People's Committee, the hot air balloon carrying 9 people departed from Son Tay town at around 10am on July 6 for the purpose of sightseeing and promoting tourism . However, when flying to Tay Dang town, the hot air balloon suddenly encountered an accident and had to make an emergency landing in an empty lot adjacent to Provincial Road 412. The incident did not cause any casualties to the 9 people on the hot air balloon. After about 30 minutes of handling the incident, the hot air balloon was brought back to a safe location.
Local authorities also confirmed that this was not a hot air balloon crash as some information spread on social networks, but a hot air balloon that had to make an emergency landing due to a technical problem. However, the incident also raised alarm bells about the safety of hot air balloon tourism activities.
Therefore, the authorities recommend that people participating in hot air balloon tours should choose reputable units with full safety conditions, and tourists should also follow the instructions of the crew.
