Spreading the movement "Emulation to win" at the Border Guard Command of Nghi Son Port

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Following Uncle Ho's teaching: "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation, those who emulate are the most patriotic", in recent years, the "Emulation to Win" movement of the Border Guard Command (BCHBP) of Nghi Son Port has always been maintained, becoming a driving force to help officers and soldiers of the unit complete their tasks well.

Officers and soldiers of the Nghi Son Port Border Guard Command participated in cleaning the environment in Hai Thuong ward.

Nghi Son Port Border Gate Command is assigned to manage and protect the sovereignty and security of the southern sea border of Thanh Hoa province, with a frontal length of 21.5km of coastline. At the same time, it is in charge of Hai Binh ward and Nghi Son ward, located in Nghi Son Economic Zone and the port area, Thanh Hoa inland port waters with a length of about 22.5km; there are 12 large and small seaports, 841 vehicles with 2,719 workers operating at sea.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Toan, Political Commissar of Nghi Son Port Border Gate Border Gate, said: Deeply aware of the purpose, meaning and importance of emulation and reward work and the "Emulation to Win" movement, the Party Committee and the Command Board of the unit have focused on thoroughly grasping, concretizing and seriously implementing the guiding documents of the superiors on emulation and reward and the "Emulation to Win" movement. Along with leading and directing the innovation of content, form and measures to organize the emulation movement, the unit also does a good job of educating motivation, building determination, identifying themes, content and emulation targets suitable to the requirements and tasks. The commendation work is focused on, linking regular commendation with extraordinary commendation, commendation of emulation movements with commendation of party organizations and mass organizations every year, thereby creating a spreading force and encouraging the emulation movement widely throughout the unit.

The highlight of the "Emulation to Win" movement in recent years is that the unit has always synchronously deployed border defense work, built defense areas, and all-people border defense posture in the area. Strictly maintained combat readiness, protected the area and unit during holidays and Tet. Coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, police and military forces to effectively implement Decree No. 04/ND-CP dated September 16, 2024 of the Government on "Mobilizing human resources, ships and civilian vehicles to participate in protecting sovereignty and sovereign rights of the sea areas of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam"; Project "Strengthening the protection of sovereignty, ensuring security, order and safety for people and economic activities at sea and islands of Thanh Hoa province in the period of 2021-2025"...

From the beginning of 2025 up to now, the Nghi Son Port Border Gate Steering Committee has coordinated with local authorities and Party committees to organize propaganda for vehicle owners and fishermen on regulations on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing of the European Commission (EC) for 15 sessions with more than 1,300 people participating; propaganda on the loudspeaker system of the wards for 32 hours with 1,360 listeners. Deployed 120 vehicles (over 15m) to sign a commitment to comply with the provisions of the law when participating in seafood exploitation at sea; presented 100 photos of Uncle Ho, 200 national flags, distributed 1,150 leaflets to vehicle owners and fishermen; coordinated with Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Company Limited, Thanh Hoa Agricultural College to open 2 training classes for class III fishing boat captains for 75 students.

At the same time, to ensure the port gate is always smooth and safe, the unit has promoted the reform of electronic border administrative procedures at seaports and strengthened border diplomacy. From the beginning of 2025 to now, the unit has completed entry procedures for 472 vehicles with 8,509 crew members, including 394 foreign vehicles. Exit procedures for 499 vehicles, with 9,403 crew members, including 400 foreign vehicles. Issued 19 visas, including 3 stickers, 16 separate, 326 shore passes, and 20 embarkation cards.

The emulation movements "Military logistics sector follows Uncle Ho's teachings", "Border guards build new rural areas", "Border guards join hands for the poor" and the campaign "Manage and exploit weapons and technical equipment well, durable, safe, economical and safe in traffic", the work of showing gratitude to policy families in the stationed area are maintained, creating a spreading influence in the unit and local Party committees and authorities in the Nghi Son coastal border area.

With the above achievements, the Border Guard Command of Nghi Son Port was awarded the Emulation Flag, the Title of a Winning Unit, and a Certificate of Merit for studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and lifestyle by the Vietnam Border Guard Command; the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee awarded many certificates of merit to collectives and individuals of the unit with outstanding achievements in performing their tasks.
