Spread love for the community

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - A kind face, a soft and open voice were my first impressions when talking to Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, Head of the Green Charity Club. With her kind heart, over the years, Ms. Lan has become a "bridge" connecting philanthropists to help those with many difficulties.

Ms. Lan “got involved” in charity activities nearly 10 years ago when she witnessed families affected by natural disasters and poor households in need of support. She mobilized relatives and friends to donate money and essential items, and went to the places to deliver these gifts of love. After that, from a friend, she continued to actively participate in cooking porridge to give free to patients and their families at some hospitals. Being able to participate in charity activities, she felt happy and joyful, however, through conversations with patients and their families, she could not bear the difficult circumstances when she heard them say they had to sell their most precious belongings to accompany the sick. They also wished to have more nutritious meals during the week, which made her worried.

With the desire to spread love and help more people in difficult circumstances, she shared the stories of patients in difficult circumstances with her friends and received companionship and support, so she established the Green Charity Club under the Provincial Red Cross Society, to gather more kind hearts.

After 7 years of operation, with her experience and passion for charity, she quickly developed the Club widely. From 20 members, the Club has now attracted over 100 members. To have delicious meals, adequate nutrition and ensure food hygiene and safety, from early morning the members have assigned specific tasks in selecting ingredients, classifying and processing food, everyone started working with enthusiasm and responsibility for community activities; regularly every Tuesday, the Club members give 650 meals at Thanh Hoa Oncology Hospital and every Thursday give 250 meals at the Provincial General Hospital to patients and their families in difficult circumstances.

Every time she gives out rice and sees everyone enjoying their meal, she and the members of the Club always feel happy and joyful, and everyone always encourages each other to do better to ease some of the economic burden on patients who are still facing many difficulties.

“My family's life was very difficult in the past, so I always understand what people in difficult circumstances have to go through. In the future, I will continue to accompany and help those unfortunate people to rise up in life. Seeing them happy makes me and the members of the club feel warm in our hearts," said Ms. Lan.

From the above thoughts, she has become a bridge connecting philanthropists to join hands to help those with many difficulties. Not only organizing practical activities at the hospital, the members of the Club also make efforts to connect with many philanthropists inside and outside the province to organize many meaningful charity programs such as supporting and assisting people in flood-affected areas inside and outside the province; building schools, giving warm clothes to students in highland areas; giving Mid-Autumn gifts to patients at Thanh Hoa Children's Hospital and children at Social Protection Center No. 2; giving money to help patients in the dialysis hamlet of the Provincial General Hospital...

With her dedication, responsibility, openness and transparency in all volunteer activities, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan has always been trusted by the members of the Club and has mobilized many philanthropists to join hands. Thereby, she has contributed to spreading love and helping people in difficult circumstances to rise up in life.
