According to a special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, on the afternoon of October 11, leaders of countries belonging to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) attended the closing ceremony of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and related Summits and the ceremony of handing over the ASEAN Chairmanship from Laos to Malaysia.
In his speech as ASEAN Chair in 2025, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim officially announced the theme of ASEAN Year 2025 as “Inclusivity and Sustainability”, expressing the aspiration for shared prosperity and leaving no one behind.
The year 2025 marks the beginning of a new journey for ASEAN with the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, continuing and promoting the achievements of nearly 60 years of cooperation, consolidating intra-bloc linkages, expanding economic cooperation with external partners, and continuing to strive for peace , security, stability and common prosperity.
After four days of active and urgent work, the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and related Summits were a great success, concluding ASEAN cooperation in 2024 with many practical results, leaving a strong impression of the proactive and positive contributions and leading role of the Lao Chairman, contributing to raising the stature of the "connected and self-reliant" ASEAN Community, towards a new stage of ASEAN development with a new vision, new thinking, new motivation and new mindset.

On the evening of October 11, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese high-ranking delegation left Vientiane for home, successfully concluding their working trip to attend the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits and related Summits./.
