"When I saw the ladies change their patient clothes to wear ao dai, I was very touched. I hope that the ladies and all the patients understand that no matter the circumstances, Vietnamese women are always beautiful and radiant. Through the program, I also hope that the patients always maintain an optimistic spirit to overcome their illness," said Nguyen Minh Tuan, a member of the organizing committee, expressing his happiness. Ms. Nguyen Minh Thuy (Da Nang City) is being treated for metastatic lymphoma, and for the first time in 3 years of treatment, she was able to wear Ao Dai again. “When I gave birth to my second child, my husband saw that I was sick and left. My father passed away, my mother is mentally ill, and only my grandmother took care of me. During the 3 years I was here, not many people came to visit. Today, seeing everyone come to visit me makes me very happy. Seeing everyone wearing Ao Dai together also helps me feel less self-conscious because of my illness,” Ms. Thuy confided. Photo: Bao Tran

Ms. Luong Thi Kim Hoa (former reporter of the Da Nang Police newspaper) had a lung tumor treatment appointment at the hospital today and felt happier than usual. “I am very happy because everyone has brought many positive things to this place. Psychological factors are very important in the treatment process. I hope that no matter how sick we are, we should still be optimistic, happy and always keep the belief that the disease will not follow us forever,” Ms. Hoa said. Photo: Bao Tran
