On the morning of November 15, the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Information and Communications jointly held a press conference to inform about activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).

22 key activities

According to information from the organizing committee, there will be 22 key activities that have been and are being comprehensively implemented in many fields on this occasion.

Colonel Nguyen Xuan Thuy, Deputy Director of the Propaganda Department, said that many activities were comprehensively deployed in many fields including: Propaganda, education , emulation, rewards; culture, literature, arts, sports; displays, exhibitions, fairs; seminars, talks, meetings, exchanges and policy activities, mass mobilization, gratitude...

Specifically, in November and December, agencies and units will coordinate to carry out key activities. Notable among them are: The entire army successfully carried out the peak emulation competition "Proud of the media - Continuing the feats - worthy of Uncle Ho's soldiers"; broadcast 60 episodes of the TV series "No time", the documentary "Father and son of soldiers", "Advancing under the military flag"; Summarizing competitions about the army; Organizing the program "Marching back to the source" for cadres, union members and youth in Cao Bang; The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense organized incense and flower offerings at the special national relic site of Tran Hung Dao forest to meet with retired senior officials; Displaying achievements in building the people's armed forces, building the national defense; Ceremony to report achievements and offer incense at President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum and the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs...

In particular, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day will be solemnly held on the morning of December 20 at the National Convention Center, with the expected participation of Party and State leaders.

1,832 projects have been deployed to celebrate the anniversary.

According to information from the Ministry of National Defense, 1,832 projects to celebrate the anniversary have been deployed, worth more than 262.6 billion VND, 1,424 projects have been completed, and 408 projects are in progress.

In particular, agencies, units and localities coordinated to provide financial support for the renovation and embellishment of places of worship (at home) for 32/34 soldiers of the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army, with a total amount of 2.56 billion VND.

The entire army deployed financial support, built and donated gratitude houses, "Great Unity Houses", "Comrade Houses", and eliminated temporary and dilapidated houses... for local people. As of October 26, the figure was 23,078 houses of all types.
