Festival of Then singing, Tinh lute and folk songs of ethnic minorities in 2025

On the evening of February 8, at Tay Yen Tu Spiritual - Ecological Tourism Area, Son Dong District ( Bac Giang ), the 2025 Then singing, Tinh lute and folk song festival of ethnic minorities took place. Attending the festival were representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, leaders of the People's Committees of 4 districts: Son Dong, Luc Nam, Lang Giang and Chu town.

This is an activity within the Culture - Tourism Week and the opening of Tay Yen Tu Spring Festival 2025 organized by Son Dong district in coordination with Luc Nam, Lang Giang districts and Chu town. The festival attracted nearly 300 artisans and mass actors of the Tay, Nung, Dao and San Chi ethnic groups.

Speaking at the festival, Vice Chairman of Son Dong District People's Committee Tong Thi Huong Giang said that in 2019, the Then practice of the Tay, Nung, and Thai people in Vietnam (including the Then practice of the Tay and Nung people in Bac Giang province) was recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. This is a unique folk art form, created by the working people, closely associated with daily life, becoming an essential need in the spiritual life of ethnic minorities in the districts of Bac Giang province.

With unique artistic values, in recent years, Son Dong district as well as other mountainous districts in the province have had many policies and measures to direct the implementation of preserving and passing on the art of Then singing - Tinh lute from generation to generation in order to promote the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development.

The 2025 Then singing, Tinh lute and folk song festival is an opportunity for artisans and actors from districts to meet, exchange, learn, and share experiences, while introducing and promoting the unique cultural heritage values ​​of ethnic groups to tourists inside and outside the province.

At the festival, delegates and a large number of tourists enjoyed 22 unique singing and dancing performances imbued with the identity of ethnic minorities in mountainous districts such as Then singing and Tinh lute of the Tay and Nung ethnic groups; folk songs and dances of the Dao, San Chi and San Diu ethnic groups performed by artisans, actors and musicians from 4 districts: Son Dong, Luc Nam, Lang Giang and Chu town imbued with national identity./.
