Series of C-class SUVs "racing" to reduce prices, Mazda CX-5 is as cheap as B-class cars

Car dealers suddenly launched a series of big incentives for many C-size SUV models after the 7th lunar month, helping consumers have more opportunities to access cars at good prices.

Specifically, the best-selling model in the segment, the Mazda CX-5, is being heavily discounted. The versions have discounts ranging from 20 to 40 million VND. For the standard version, after the promotion, the price is only 709 million VND, lower than some B, B+ SUV models such as the Honda HR-V (699 - 869 million VND) or the Toyota Corolla Cross (820 - 905 million VND).

Hyundai also attracted attention when applying a deep discount program for Tucson. According to a survey of a dealer in Hanoi , the standard version of Tucson was directly reduced by 40 million VND, from 769 million to 729 million VND. This price is equivalent to some B-class models such as Toyota Yaris Cross (765 million VND) or Honda HR-V L (750 million VND). The total discount for some versions is up to 55 million VND.

Ford Territory just had a mid-cycle upgrade in August so the cash discount is not as big as before. Currently, some dealers are reducing about 20 - 25 million VND with accessories for Territory versions.

The domestically assembled Honda CR-V is distributed with a 50% discount on registration fees in September. Converted to cash, the discount is from 51.5 to 62.5 million VND for the two versions G and L. After the promotion, the price of the standard version G is 977.5 million VND, but it is still on par with high-end competitors in the same segment, so it is not really easy to reach the majority of customers.

According to a survey of a dealer in Hanoi, the standard version of Tucson has directly decreased by 40 million VND, from 769 million to 729 million VND.

For the Kia Sportage line, the discount ranges from 25 to 40 million VND depending on the version. Meanwhile, the VinFast VF 7 electric car model is being discounted at a rate of 4% of the car's value, equivalent to 32 to 38 million VND.

The C-size SUV market after the first 8 months of 2025 witnessed the dominance of Mazda CX-5. This model sold nearly 10,000 units, surpassing its rival Ford Territory by about 3,000 units.

Ranked third in the entire segment is VinFast VF7. In August alone, this electric car model reached 718 units, bringing the total since the beginning of the year to nearly 5,100 units. This achievement helps VF7 slightly surpass Hyundai Tucson and Honda CR-V, affirming its remarkable position in the C-size SUV group.
