On September 20, speaking at the launching ceremony of the logo design contest (new Da Nang logo) after the merger, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee, said that this is a meaningful activity in the process of building and developing the city's brand.
The contest is not only a playground for artistic creativity but also a place to spread the sense of responsibility, pride and love of each citizen for Da Nang City.
According to Ms. Thi, to fully portray the identity, spirit and stature of Da Nang City, there needs to be a logo that can inspire, unite the community and position the city's brand in the new era, the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.
The contest organizers announced information on submitting entries for the new Da Nang logo contest.

The logo needs to clearly reflect the identity and strategic vision of Da Nang City, encourage the exploitation of one or several typical and representative symbolic elements of the city, and demonstrate the cultural depth and people of Quang Nam through spiritual values such as hospitality, affection, and creativity.
The logo must ensure harmony between aesthetic and content elements, creating positive impressions, while also expressing the pride and aspirations for development of a city in the future.
"In the context of the administrative boundaries of Da Nang City today - which have just been expanded after merging with Quang Nam province, through this contest, the city wishes to spread the message of a modern Da Nang that always preserves its identity, a sustainably developing urban area, a hospitable and affectionate community, a spirit of creativity and innovation," said Ms. Thi.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City called on designers, painters, architects, art students and all people who love Da Nang to actively respond to the contest, sending their emotions, intelligence and creative ideas into their works.

Representing the art council, artist Ho Dinh Nam Kha, Head of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association in Da Nang, emphasized that the logo is not only a brand identity but also reflects the history, people and culture of a land.
A successful logo must be concise, memorable, convey a core message and create pride for the community.
According to Mr. Kha, the creative process requires 3 steps: researching and distilling the typical elements of Da Nang - Quang Nam; orienting a modern style that still retains the local identity; applying modern techniques and tools to complete, ensuring the ability to use flexibly on many materials.
"The new Da Nang logo is a work of art that is the crystallization of love and passion. I hope that each participating author will convey their love for Da Nang and Quang Nam to create concise, modern and unique works," Mr. Kha emphasized.
