Episode 151 of the program Vietnamese Family Home is about to air with the guidance of MC Thanh Thao. Two guests, Actor B Tran and singer Ha Myo, will participate as guests, contributing to bring home valuable prizes to support children in difficult circumstances, who are vulnerable early on due to the lack of family affection.

Quynh Chi is strong in the face of difficulties: her father is gone, her mother works far away, her brother is disabled, and she is struggling with depression.

One of the situations that brought tears to the audience was Thai Quynh Chi (2011), a student at Le Hong Phong Secondary School, Ha Tinh province. Quynh Chi's father passed away in 2014 due to stomach cancer.

In the past, the father was the breadwinner of the family. After his death, all the burden fell on the shoulders of her mother - Ms. Phan Thi Tuan (1987). At that time, Quynh Chi was only 3 years old, and her brother was only 6 years old. To make a living, the mother had to send her two children to their grandparents to take care of so she could go to work far away. Every month, she tried to save about 3 million VND to send home for her grandparents to take care of the living expenses of the two brothers.

Quynh Chi called her mother and talked to her brother using sign language.

Quynh Chi’s older brother, Thien (born 2008), is deaf and mute and is currently in 11th grade. Despite many difficulties in learning, Thien always tries to follow his friends to school and maintain good academic performance. He receives disability support of 750,000 VND per month.

Quynh Chi is a studious girl, having been an excellent student for many years. However, the lack of parental love at an early age, her mother working far away, her grandparents being old, and her brother having a disability made her often lonely, self-conscious and self-deprecating. Quynh Chi is currently being treated for depression and paranoia according to the protocol of Bach Mai Hospital ( Hanoi ).

Seeing that her grandparents were no longer strong enough to support her, in 2024, her mother sent Quynh Chi to her aunt, Ms. Phan Thi Tu (1987). She had a leg disability, had her own family, and two small children, one of whom had congenital heart disease and had just undergone surgery. Despite the many difficulties in life, Ms. Tu did not hesitate to take her grandchild home to take care of her. At the same time, she also took care of her elderly parents-in-law.

Her disabled aunt was still determined to take care of Quynh Chi despite many economic and family difficulties.

Because they have no home, the family has to rent a place to live. All living expenses are shouldered by the uncle - Tu's aunt's husband. He works as a porter, earning about 150,000 VND per day, if he works regularly, he earns about 4.5 million VND per month. Quynh Chi herself receives an orphanage allowance of 500,000 VND per month.

Following the character's situation, MC Thanh Thao could not hold back her emotions when hearing Quynh Chi confess her wish: "I want to have a complete home where the whole family can rely on each other." The female MC choked up when she learned that her family no longer had enough members, and each person had to live in a different place.

The image of Quynh Chi calling her mother and using sign language to talk to her brother every weekend made MC Thanh Thao sad. She expressed her sadness at the fate of mothers who work far from home, taking care of themselves and worrying about sending money home to their children.

Singer Ha Myo burst into tears because Quynh Chi lacked so much love. The image of the little girl sitting quietly in a corner, hugging tightly an old teddy bear – the last gift her father gave her when she was only 3 years old – made the singer choke up.

As for actor B Tran, he expressed his admiration for Thien. Despite his disability, he still tries to study like other friends. He shared: “There is no school for the disabled near his house, but Thien still attends school and achieves good academic results. That proves he has made a great effort, which is admirable.”

The wordless loneliness of Bao Chau, an orphan girl lacking the warmth of family

Another situation in the Vietnamese Family Home that also moved many people was Le Bao Chau (2010), a student at Xuan Hong Secondary School, Thanh Hoa province. Her father left when her mother was pregnant, so since birth, Bao Chau has never felt the love of her father.

Ironically, in 2023, her mother was diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer and passed away just two months later. Since her mother's death, Bao Chau has lived with her grandfather. But in 2024, he also passed away from a stroke and severe stomach bleeding. The sudden passing of her last relative left Bao Chau helpless, with no one to rely on.

Currently, she lives alone in the old house left by her grandfather. Nearby is the house of her uncle and aunt (her grandfather’s siblings), but both are over 70 years old and no longer able to work. They can only stay nearby to look after and teach Bao Chau when needed.

Before he passed away, his grandfather left him a piece of land, which he gave to his uncle to cultivate to get rice for him to eat. After school, Bao Chau also goes to weed and collect duckweed to feed the ducks. He has to take care of all his daily activities himself. Every month, he receives an orphanage allowance of 500,000 VND.

In the middle of the quiet house, Bao Chau cried beside her mother's portrait, where she sought the last remaining warmth.

Sometimes, I also wonder about my father, but because my mother never mentioned it, I did not dare to ask. Now, when both my mother and my grandfather have passed away, the hope of finding information about my father is even more fragile. Every night, Bao Chau sleeps right next to the altar of her mother and grandparents - where she feels most peaceful, as if she is still protected by her beloved family. With determination and willpower, she tries to study well so that in the future she can have a stable job and take care of herself.

Bao Chau's situation made the emotions of the artists at the studio quiet. MC Thanh Thao burst into tears. She gave many words of encouragement to the little girl because she felt sorry for her because she was so understanding and so lonely. What made the MC feel the most heartbroken was the image of a child living alone, facing the loneliness of missing her loved ones.

Thanh Thao continuously wiped her tears and said: “I wonder if Chau’s father is watching the show, where are you, who are you, why up to this point he is still not present in front of his daughter. You cannot imagine the loneliness of a child at this time. Sometimes, the need here is not material, but you should also understand that you still have a relative, a blood relative but you cannot rely on them .

All three artists felt heartbroken when witnessing the loneliness and reluctant maturity of little girl Bao Chau.

She hugged Bao Chau and continued: “It is this simple thing, just a hug from a relative, which, apart from your grandparents and uncles, you have not felt for a long time. It has been a long time since you have had a hug from your parents. From today, Ha Myo, B Tran and I, as well as the members of the Vietnamese Family Home, will become Bao Chau's friends and relatives .

Standing next to Bao Chau, singer Ha Myo gently hugged her, wishing to share some warmth with the character. When Bao Chau expressed her wish to see her mother and grandfather again, the whole studio fell silent with heartache, knowing that they could not help her realize this dream.

B Tran: "The children's difficulties make me realize that my suffering is so small"

Behind the scenes, actor B Tran said he was moved many times when watching the program Vietnamese Family Home through social media platforms. However, according to the actor, only when participating in the program directly did he fully understand what the characters had to go through. B Tran shared that he himself knew there were many difficult situations around him, but only when standing next to, listening to and talking with the characters in the program did he clearly feel that there were families that were truly in dire straits.

Actor B Tran gave his all in the challenges of the show. On set, he choked up many times with sorrow for the fate of the children.

“Seeing the children lacking everything made me feel sorry, but I also admired the determination of the families, because they still tried to overcome their fate, the children also kept studying and striving. I suddenly realized that I also had my own hardships, but compared to the hardships that the children in the Vietnamese Family Shelter program had gone through, my hardships were very small, nothing at all.

I think no one can choose where they were born, and deprivation is something that the children and their families have encountered. But what is admirable is that they have chosen to face and always try to overcome while there are many people out there who may be happier but still complain of suffering. I think if everyone had the chance to meet, watch the program and understand the children's circumstances better, they might try harder in their own lives, because their lives are not necessarily more difficult or miserable than the characters in Vietnamese Family Home" , the actor shared.

In addition to being moved by the character's situation, B Tran also expressed that he was "shocked" when witnessing the warm reception and support from local audiences for the program. In particular, the act of directly donating large sums of money to help those in difficult circumstances is something he had never imagined before. B Tran affirmed that Vietnamese Family Home is a meaningful program, as it truly solves the urgent difficulties of families in need of support.

Watch the program Vietnamese Family Home broadcast at 20:20 every Friday on HTV7 channel. The program is produced by Bee Media Company in collaboration with Ho Chi Minh City Television, with the support of Hoa Sen Home Construction Materials & Interior Supermarket System (Hoa Sen Group) and Hoa Sen Plastic Pipe - Source of Happiness.
