When taking off the "Bear Dad" mask, not only singer Hoang Hai but also his fans burst into tears. For more than a decade, the name Hoang Hai seemed to have disappeared from Vietnamese showbiz, even though at that time, he was at the peak of his fame with the nickname "Prince of V-pop".

After a decade of "hibernation", when returning to the audience of The Masked Singer - Masked Singer season 2, "Bear Dad" Hoang Hai felt very lucky and his passion for the profession seemed to be rekindled.

Hoang Hai said he felt like he was reborn again with music and chose "The Only Answer" to mark his return.

"At first, I didn't think people would favor and love me so much. I even thought it would be hard for people to guess because I hadn't been active or released new products for a long time. I thought people had forgotten about me. When I appeared on The Masked Singer, many people loved me. I didn't expect that when I sang my first song, everyone responded and guessed, which surprised me," Hoang Hai shared.

Talking about what made him decide to return to music after a period of absence, the male singer said: "I think the most important thing is musical inspiration. Actually, I received a lot of invitations during my "hibernation", but I felt that it would be difficult for me to do well, so I did not dare to decide.

When the organizers of The Masked Singer asked me to join, I was very hesitant. It took me about 7 to 10 days to accept. The reason was because I was afraid that I was no longer in good enough shape to participate in a music program. But in the end, because I found the program so interesting, I couldn't stand it anymore so I confirmed my participation."

Returning after a relatively long time, Hoang Hai has had difficulty keeping up with music trends. Up to now, he still feels like he is new to the profession. "I have to learn everything because now is very different from the past. In my time, the internet and digital music were not yet developed, but now there are many, especially media, social networks for singers are very important and I am adapting."

In response to questions about whether Hoang Hai has been missing for the past 10 years because of a love affair or because he is a tycoon and doesn't need to sing, Hoang Hai said, "I like going out more than going to work. Life is less stressful, which means less money. I spend less than I earn. A person who has plenty and doesn't borrow money is a tycoon. I think so."

Hoang Hai, born in 1982, from Hanoi , was the valedictorian of the vocal music department of Hanoi College of Culture and Arts. Hoang Hai won the Most Favorite Singer award at Sao Mai rendezvous 2006, and was nicknamed "Prince of V-pop" by the audience.

Since 2008, Hoang Hai has tried his hand at the R&B genre, with notable songs such as "Em se la giac mo" and "Cu tim di", which won awards at Lan Song Xanh.

In 2012, he released the album Tim Lai Thoi Gian, which attracted attention. Over the past 10 years, Hoang Hai has withdrawn from the music industry. Regarding his personal life, he is currently not married but expressed his happiness with his current life.
