According to information from many agents and businesses, the price of green coffee beans traded on the afternoon of August 15 in the Central Highlands region increased by 3,000 - 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, currently reaching around 113,500 - 115,300 VND/kg.
Specifically, today's coffee prices in Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces reached 114,500 - 115,300 VND/kg, in Gia Lai province reached around 114,500 VND/kg. Meanwhile, coffee prices in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai were traded at a common level of 113,500 - 114,000 VND/kg.
Thus, over the past 2 weeks, coffee prices have almost continuously maintained an upward trend and have now increased sharply compared to the mark of around 90,000 VND/kg of more than 1 month ago. However, the current price is still quite low compared to the record level of 135,500 VND/kg recorded in early March 2025.
Similarly, coffee prices traded on world exchanges also increased compared to the previous trading session and prices are being recorded at the highest level in many weeks.
Specifically, the price of Robusta futures for delivery in September 2025 increased by 151 USD/ton to 4,084 USD/ton; for delivery in November 2025 increased by 153 USD/ton to 3,952 USD/ton; for delivery in January 2026 increased by 120 USD/ton to 3,814 USD/ton...
On the New York floor, Arabica prices also increased sharply. The September 2025 futures contract reached 326.50 cents/lb, up 6.90 cents (+2.16%); the December 2025 contract reached 318.70 cents/lb, up 6.05 cents; and the March 2026 contract reached 308.90 cents/lb, up 5.90 cents.
According to many businesses, coffee prices have continued to increase in recent times mainly due to relatively scarce supply, and especially bad weather in Brazil, with export figures for the first 7 months of 2025 falling by 23% compared to the same period last year.
Therefore, this growth momentum may last until the end of the third quarter of 2025, after which it is likely to cool down as Vietnam enters the autumn crop.
However, many experts are quite cautious when commenting on the upcoming price movements of coffee, saying that at many times coffee prices go against the normal trend and this commodity is also being greatly affected by many unstable factors of the world, US tax policy...
Therefore, businesses and agents need to be more careful with their buying or selling decisions.
