'God's Eye' V-Elint 18 produced in Vietnam: 'Capturing' stealth aircraft, reconnaissance hundreds of kilometers

The V-Elint 18 intelligent ultra-high frequency electronic reconnaissance system researched and manufactured by Vietnam is capable of detecting many targets in the air, at sea and on land. In particular, the system can detect stealth aircraft, helping to strengthen defense capabilities.

Among the countries investing in the ability to detect stealth targets, Vietnam has researched, designed, manufactured and developed a system to detect flying vehicles with ultra-small reflective areas.

One of them is the V-Elint 18 intelligent ultra-high frequency electronic reconnaissance system currently under the management of the Electronic Warfare Department ( Ministry of National Defense ). This system was announced at the recent exhibition of national achievements "80 years of journey of independence, freedom, happiness" (Dong Anh commune, Hanoi).

According to the introduction of the staff at the exhibition area, V-Elint 18 is a system with an ultra-wide reception range, capable of analyzing, detecting, locating, and identifying all types of targets in the air, at sea, and on land without being detected by the enemy, because the system uses a passive radar type.

V-Elint 18 has a positioning range of up to hundreds of kilometers, capable of detecting stealth aircraft because it only receives signals emitted by the target.

The components of the V-Elint 18 intelligent ultra-high frequency electronic reconnaissance system include 5 processing stations, a central station and a receiving station.

This system can process primary radar pulse signals, interrogation signals on aircraft, ships, navigation signals and many other types of signals, can conduct reconnaissance at a range of hundreds of kilometers, with a 360-degree observation range.

Regarding the monitoring target, the system can monitor 500 display targets simultaneously, the receiver sensitivity can be up to minus 85 dB, the database is up to over 10,000 targets.

According to the officer, the most special feature of the V-Elint system is the compact antenna design that can receive super wide; this reconnaissance system collects information passively, so it is very difficult for the enemy to detect the radar area.

In addition, the system has a very long reception distance and can detect stealth aircraft.

The officer explained that the reason why the V-Elint 18 is difficult for the enemy to detect is because the reconnaissance distance is long, the installation position will not be placed at the front but placed deep inside, the system's antenna also has little reflection, making it difficult for the enemy's reconnaissance system to detect.

V-Elint 18 is one of the core components of the Electronic Warfare Department.

Active radar systems include a signal transmitter and an antenna that receives the signal reflected from the targets. Meanwhile, passive radars only have a signal receiving antenna and take advantage of available signal sources in the environment from television transmitters, radio stations, mobile phone networks, internal networks and even satellites...
