Rally in response to World Environment Day and World Oceans Day 2024

On the morning of June 5, at the Central Regulating Lake, the Provincial People's Committee organized a Rally to respond to World Environment Day and World Ocean Day 2024 with the theme "Land restoration, drought and desertification prevention" and "Deeper understanding of the ocean". Attending were comrades: Tran Minh Luc, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Le Van Binh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: Environmental protection and integrated management of marine resources are global issues. This is not only the responsibility of each individual and each country, but also the common responsibility of all humanity.

Provincial leaders attended the Rally in response to World Environment Day and World Oceans Day 2024.

With the theme "Land restoration, combating drought and desertification" and "Deeper understanding of the ocean" to call on countries and organizations around the world to join hands towards the goal of land restoration, combating desertification and drought resistance, slowing down the process of climate change, protecting nature; making efforts to change to protect the ocean, for a blue and sustainable ocean. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches, sectors and localities to organize a series of activities on environmental protection in general and protection of marine and island environmental resources in particular to respond to the "Month of action for the environment in 2024" and "Vietnam Sea and Islands Week in 2024".

Effectively implement the Resolutions of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, term XIV, related to climate change adaptation, marine economic development, management and effective use of land, mineral resources, and environmental protection. Promote activities to protect and develop forests, effectively use land resources, and develop livelihoods for people in areas at risk or affected by desertification. Strictly control waste sources from construction, industrial, and agricultural activities and regulations on waste classification at source. Apply advanced, environmentally friendly technologies and circular economic models towards green economic development and sustainable development. Encourage research on the sea and islands, production and business activities that are friendly to the marine environment; and activities to protect the marine and island environment.

Comrade Le Van Binh, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee planted trees at the central lake.

Immediately after the ceremony, provincial leaders responded by planting trees at the central lake; a large number of cadres, civil servants, youth union members and people participated in cleaning the environment and collecting garbage along Phan Boi Chau street.
