During the process of building the advanced new rural area, the people agreed and actively participated in contributing funds as well as donating land, working days... Thanks to that, Tien Canh commune now has a new look, the rural landscape is bright, green, clean, beautiful and the quality of life of the people is gradually improved.

Mr. Le Van Lieu (village 1, Tien Canh commune) said: "Previously, the road leading to Go Dinh area was a dirt road about 3m wide, so traveling was inconvenient. Later, former President Truong Tan Sang came and donated a bridge across the stream. People here participated in donating land to expand the road to the residential area.
The households met and agreed to donate land and crops to widen the road without asking for any benefits. My family voluntarily donated over 150 square meters to build the road. The widened road not only makes traveling and trading easier, but also contributes to improving people's lives."

The total mobilized resources for the construction of advanced new rural areas since achieving new rural standards to date are nearly 74 billion VND; of which, state budget capital is 13 billion VND; credit loans are 36 billion VND; capital from enterprises, cooperatives and other economic types is 7 billion VND and capital mobilized from the community is nearly 16.5 billion VND.
Thanks to that, up to now, the infrastructure in Tien Canh has been invested synchronously, with a system of communal roads with a length of 11.5km maintained annually, ensuring 100% brightness, greenness, cleanliness and beauty; village roads and inter-village roads with a total length of over 23km are concreted, installed with lighting and shady trees to ensure brightness, greenness, cleanliness and beauty; alley roads are paved with flat concrete, ensuring brightness - greenness - cleanliness - beauty.
In addition, the system of intra-field canals is hardened, dredged and cleared regularly to ensure nearly 80% of the irrigation area for agricultural production.
"Our village 2 is building a model new rural area and has achieved all the criteria. This result is thanks to the cooperation and consensus of the people who donated land, labor days, cut down trees and crops to expand traffic routes and invest in building civil works.
In addition, people also participate in beautifying their gardens, gates, and village roads in a green, clean, beautiful, and effective way. In the process of improving the NTM model, the NTM residential area, Tien Canh commune always determines that income is the most important criterion, so the commune has focused on promoting propaganda and mobilizing people to continue to change the structure of crops and livestock and change old farming practices; apply scientific and technical advances, and bring crops and livestock with high economic value into production.
In particular, the commune focuses on mobilizing people to implement Project 02 and Project 03 of the District People's Council and Resolution 35 of the Quang Nam Provincial People's Council on developing garden economy and farm economy.
Tien Canh is one of the leading localities in the district in implementing these projects and Resolutions. Many farmers in the area invest in developing fruit trees with high economic value such as mangosteen, durian, green-skinned grapefruit, and citrus, earning an annual income of over 100 million VND/model.

A typical example is the family fruit garden of Mr. Doan Kim Thiet (village 7A) with an area of 2 hectares, growing economic fruit trees such as areca trees, more than a hundred specialty pepper trees, intercropping guava, orange, coconut, green-skinned grapefruit, mangosteen, durian. In addition, Mr. Thiet's garden won second prize in the "beautiful garden" contest of Quang Nam province in 2023.
Mr. Doan Kim Thiet shared that the nearly 2-hectare hill garden was initially renovated by him, with stone banks in a terraced model to prevent erosion and cinnamon plantation. However, cinnamon plantations did not yield the expected results. From 2014 to now, he has renovated the garden, using water flowing from the mountains and planted more than 1,000 areca trees, 100 pepper trees, 100 mangosteen trees, durian trees, interspersed with 300 guava trees and 40 tangerine trees. In addition, he also invested in raising cows to create a source of on-site manure for the plants. After nearly 10 years of cultivation, the garden has grown well and begun to yield. On average, the garden brings in nearly 200 million VND in revenue each year.
Finished on time, people earn 56 million VND/year
Along with developing agricultural production, Tien Canh commune always cares about and creates conditions for businesses, households and individuals to develop production and business.
Tien Canh locality considers this one of the important factors promoting the process of building new rural areas to improve living standards, sustainably reduce poverty, and stabilize people's lives.
In the commune, Tuan Dat II Company Limited annually provides jobs for more than 1,000 local workers, with an average income of 5-7 million VND/person/month; the professions of agarwood handicrafts, carpentry, mechanics, aluminum and glass, construction... are increasingly developing in scale and number of establishments. In addition, new professions such as areca and cinnamon processing are also being invested in.

Up to now, 5 cooperatives have been established in the commune. In general, the cooperatives have initially operated effectively, earning a profit of 100 - 200 million VND per year, creating jobs for local workers as well as supplying clean products to the market.
Currently, the commune has 2 OCOP products of Nhat Linh General Service and Trading Cooperative recognized by the Provincial People's Committee, in which the Lon Bon wine product is evaluated and recognized with 4 stars and the Incense products are 3 stars. In addition, the Loc Yen traditional cake cooperative and Dat Quang Green Areca Cooperative have also been formed in the area, contributing to the development of traditional products from existing local agricultural products.

Mr. Le Truong Hien - Chairman of Tien Canh Commune People's Committee, Tien Phuoc District excitedly said that up to now, the appearance of Tien Canh New Rural Area is changing day by day, people's lives are improving, by the end of 2023, the average income per capita of the commune will reach over 56 million VND/year (an increase of over 33 million VND compared to 2015 when the locality reached the finish line of New Rural Area).
The multidimensional poverty rate recognized as meeting the new rural standards has decreased to 2.37%; the number of near-poor households is 75, accounting for 2.09%. Currently, the commune has 3/8 villages recognized as model new rural villages and Tien Canh will be recognized as an advanced new rural commune by the end of 2023.
"In the coming time, to maintain, sustain and improve the quality of the achieved criteria, Tien Canh commune will continue to promote internal strength, arouse the spirit of solidarity, creativity and responsibility of the entire political system.
"Invest in building infrastructure, repairing and upgrading village and inter-village roads, and continuing to solidify canals to facilitate economic development. Enhance the role and responsibility of Party committees and implement national target programs. Focus on building a strong political system, maintaining political security and social order and safety in the area," said Mr. Hien.
