Located on the Vietnam - China border, Ban Gioc waterfall in Dam Thuy commune, Trung Khanh district, Cao Bang province, is considered a place with majestic natural scenery like a fairyland. This place is also known as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Vietnam, one of the largest natural waterfalls in Southeast Asia.

From a height of over 60m with the longest slope of 30m, large volumes of water from the top of the waterfall pour down through many layers of rock, flowing like soft white silk strips winding between the immense green of the mountains and forests, and then creating a white mist of water like clouds in the sky.

Surrounding Ban Gioc waterfall is a beautiful natural landscape, fresh and cool air with green grass carpets, primeval forests and a diverse and rich ecosystem of flora and fauna.

Since 1922, Ban Gioc waterfall was described in documents of the Indochina Geological Service: This is the most beautiful area of the North, if not for the remoteness and difficult means of transportation, it is very worthy for tourists to visit with caves, Z-shaped bridges built on rocks across the river and especially the majestic waterfall, called the step waterfall named Tu Tong (Tu Tong) known to many Europeans by the name of Ban Gioc waterfall.
