Heavy rain caused landslides on many national highways in mountainous areas.

Due to the impact of storm No. 3, as of September 7, the National Highways (QL) under the province's management had some positive slope cracks and negative slope landslides.

Quan Hoa district coordinated with the road management unit to set up warning posts in the landslide area on National Highway 16.

According to the Department of Transport, on National Highway 16 at Km20+850 (left side of the route), a positive slope crack appeared with the risk of landslide with a length of about 200m, a height of about 15m-30m, and a width of about 0.5m to 1.0m. Storms also caused negative slope landslides at 3 locations of National Highway 16 and National Highway 15C through Muong Lat district with a length of about 65m. Immediately after the discovery, the management unit coordinated with the People's Committee of Phu Thanh commune (Quan Hoa) to propagate and warn people traveling on this route. At the same time, there was a plan for 12 households on the negative slope of the above location to move out of the dangerous area. Along with that, the management unit has installed warning signs at both ends of the location, stretched safety belts, assigned guards 24/7 to monitor and guide people and vehicles when passing through the route, and prepared equipment, machinery, and workers to promptly handle traffic jams.

The storm also caused landslides on the negative slope at 3 locations of National Highway 16 and National Highway 15C through Muong Lat district with a length of about 65m. Of which, at Km64+980/National Highway 15C (right of the route) in Trung Ly commune (Muong Lat), a crack appeared in a sliding arc about 30m long; at Km34+600 (left of the route), Km35+400 (left of the route)/National Highway 16 in Muong Ly commune (Muong Lat), a crack appeared in a sliding arc about 35m long. Immediately after the discovery, the management unit coordinated with the People's Committees of Trung Ly and Muong Ly communes (Muong Lat) to propagate and warn people and vehicles when passing through dangerous sections of the route. At the same time, the management unit was directed to install warning signs at both ends of the location, tighten safety belts, prepare equipment and workers to promptly handle traffic jams. Currently, the storm has also caused landslides at 3 locations of National Highway 16 and National Highway 15C through Muong Lat district with a length of about 65m. Currently, all national highways in the province are running normally.

There is currently no damage caused by storm No. 3 on provincial roads.

When floods occurred, the Department of Transport directed the Maintenance Management Board and road management units to urgently deploy inspections and reviews on the roads, immediately implement handling measures, ensure traffic such as cutting trees, placing signs, barricades at landslide and slippage locations, arranging guards, traffic guidance, etc. to ensure safety for people and vehicles traveling on the route. Therefore, traffic on national highways and provincial roads is still guaranteed to be smooth, no congestion has occurred.

However, Thanh Hoa province is still experiencing heavy rain, especially in mountainous areas. Road management units are actively patrolling the roads, checking, updating damage and taking action to ensure traffic safety.
