The first Tet season, Ho Chi Minh City has a metro, continuously increasing trips but still can't keep up

A representative of Urban Railway Company No. 1 (HURC Company - the operator) said that since its operation, metro line No. 1 (Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien line) has received the attention and love of many people in the city. In particular, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, the number of metro passengers increased, especially on January 29 and 30 (the first and second days of the lunar calendar).

With the agreement of the HCM City Department of Transport, to serve the increased travel demand of people in the first days of the new year, HURC Company has adjusted its operating plan and increased the number of trains. Specifically, from today (January 31) to February 2, the time frame from 5:00 to 7:30 will be adjusted to a frequency of 18 minutes/trip; from 7:30 to 8:40, the interval will be 15 minutes/trip; from 8:40 to 9:40, the interval will be 12 minutes/trip; then, from 9:40 to 22:00 when the train stops running, there will be a train every 10 minutes.

Previously, after the first day of the new year, welcoming many spring tourists, metro line 1 was also adjusted to increase trips with a frequency of 9 minutes/trip running continuously from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

2025 is the first Tet season that city residents can visit Nguyen Hue Flower Street by metro. Right from the moment of New Year's Eve, many families lined up to board the metro to the city center to watch the fireworks display at Bach Dang Wharf, then went to Nguyen Hue Flower Street to enjoy spring.

Therefore, to facilitate people, the flower street organizers have updated the list of 7 motorbike parking spots on the sidewalk, metro station No. 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien. People going to Nguyen Hue flower street can park their motorbikes on the sidewalk of Ham Nghi street, from No. 3 Ham Nghi street to Ton Duc Thang street; in front of Cao Thang Technical College on Huynh Thuc Khang street; in front of Cao Thang Technical College on Pasteur street; in front of the Tax commercial center construction site (old) from Pasteur street to Nguyen Hue street; parking area at the City Theater, Me Linh Square and parking area at Ba Son metro station, Ben Thanh metro station.

Parking prices at metro stations range from 4,000 to 6,000 VND, parking for 12 hours or more will cost 10,000 VND. Sidewalk parking lots above the regulated parking price.
