Muong Hoa commune was established on the basis of merging the entire natural area and population of Phu Vinh commune and Suoi Hoa commune. Focus on developing cage fish farming

Talking to us, Mr. Bui Van Nga - Ngoi hamlet said: Cage fish farming brings much higher economic efficiency than local farming and livestock farming. Thanks to the advantage of clean lake water and ideal depth, fish are rarely affected by diseases. In particular, the prices of fish here fluctuate very little, because they are mainly used to serve tourists. Black catfish is the main fish and specialty of the lake area, favored by customers, so for many years now, households have mainly raised this fish, along with some other common fish species such as red tilapia, grass carp, common carp...

According to calculations, a fish cage can bring in an income of 50-70 million VND/year. In order to promote cage fish farming, since 2014, the former Hoa Binh province has issued Resolution No. 12 and Decision No. 10 to support capital, technology and encourage investment, contributing to promoting cage fish farming on Hoa Binh Lake in general, and Muong Hoa commune in particular, to have favorable conditions for strong development. According to statistics, Muong Hoa commune currently has 609 fish cages, an increase of 24 cages compared to the beginning of the term, with an average output of over 784 tons/year.

Muong Hoa has 7 hamlets adjacent to Hoa Binh Lake, including: Mu, Ngoi, Ne, Liem, Ong, Tham, Thung and is located in the core planning area of ​​Hoa Binh Lake tourist area. Therefore, the fish cage farming on the lake combined with tourism is identified by the commune as one of the key areas to focus on exploiting and developing to create sustainable livelihoods for local people.

Mobilize people to develop cage fish farming associated with environmental protection of Hoa Binh reservoir to maintain a sustainable profession and create livelihoods for people while attracting tourists to explore and experience.

Making tourism an important economic sector

Along with the cage fish farming, Hoa Binh Lake in Muong Hoa commune with the highlight of Ngoi Hoa Bay, considered as "Ha Long on land", is a particularly valuable potential for local tourism development. Muong Hoa commune after the merger has opened up new space and development space when it is located in the Hoa Binh Lake National Tourism Area Planning, planned as the core of the tourist area.
