"Dancing Girl" beauties after 20 years: One is a single mother, one married a Westerner

The trio of beauties including Minh Thu, My Duyen and Bang Lang also became famous names. However, in the past 20 years, the female cast of Gai Nhay have all had changes in their lives and careers.

Minh Thu

Minh Thu was born in 1976 in Ho Chi Minh City. She started acting in films in 1995, but at first, her roles were all obscure. In 2003, Minh Thu attracted attention when she played the role of Hanh - a sophisticated girl with a pitiful fate in Gai Nhay.

In the film, Minh Thu is appreciated for her improved acting, outstanding beauty and "hot" appearance. The role has left many impressions in the hearts of the audience.

After that , the actress continued to appear in many movies such as Cinderella, Get a wife in Saigon, Bell ringing is shooting, Fragrance of alluvium... However, in later movies, Minh Thu was not as successful as expected because it was difficult to overcome the shadow of Gai danse.

Regarding her personal life, My Duyen got married at the age of 42 to her Vietnamese-American husband. At the age of 51, the mother of one is both devoted to her art and taking care of her family.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter about the secret to keeping the fire of marriage when her husband works far away, My Duyen once said: "My husband works in Dong Nai , only returning to Ho Chi Minh City on weekends. During that time, I try to arrange my work so that my husband, wife and children can be together. I can tell you that if my husband and I are angry with each other, he just needs to make my favorite dish and I will forget everything (laughs)".

Bang Lang was born in 1979 and was one of the first generation of Vietnamese models in the early 2000s.

She was once in the top 10 of the Asian Fashion Model Search contest (the predecessor of Vietnam Supermodel ), known as the "black pearl" of the Vietnamese modeling industry, and appeared on many domestic newspaper covers.

In 2003, Bang Lang made her acting debut with the role of Ngoc in Gai Nhay. Despite being a "non-professional", the beauty impressed with her natural acting. When the film was released, the image of Ngoc - a cold, individualistic girl but always yearning for happiness - conquered a large audience.

After the success of Gai Nhay , Bang Lang appeared in other films such as Lo Lem He Pho, Doc Tinh... She also made her mark in the film Nu Tuong Robber - the film that achieved record revenue in 2005 in the Vietnamese market.

In 2007, at the peak of her career, Bang Lang suddenly got married to German businessman Claas Schaberg. Since then, she has almost withdrawn from the entertainment industry.

Due to the nature of her husband's work, Bang Lang and her family often travel and live in many countries such as Thailand, the US... From 2019 until now, her family has lived in Singapore.

Talking to Dan Tri reporter, the former model said that after getting married, she accepted to sacrifice her career to take care of her 2 children and her husband. After many years of being absent from Vietnamese showbiz, Bang Lang misses her career but does not regret her peak. She believes that each person has their own choice.

"I miss my job too. Sometimes I return to Vietnam to participate in some projects of my close friends, but I don't have a long-term plan to return to showbiz because I have to take care of my family and children. My husband is always on business trips so it is very difficult for me to return to Vietnam to pursue my career.

My husband's job requires him to move around a lot, so I have to make sacrifices. He stays in each country for 3-5 years. He only has about 1 year left in Singapore. My life is here today, gone tomorrow. If I were still in Vietnam, I would definitely not quit my job," Bang Lang shared with Dan Tri reporter.
