US recalls 7.5 million Baby Shark toys that could be dangerous to children

The US has recorded many cases of children being injured while using the Robo Alive Junior Baby Shark Sing Swim bath toy, some children even needed stitches.

Recently, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) released reports of children being injured while playing with Baby Shark bath toys.

Zuru LLC, a California company that imports Chinese-made products, has recalled 6.5 million large Robo Alive Junior Baby Shark Sing Swim bath toys and 1 million small ones.

The company said it had received 12 reports of children “injured by toys penetrating the skin.” The injuries and lacerations occurred after children fell or sat on the full-size version of the Baby Shark bath toy.

According to the CPSC, nine of the injuries required stitches or medical attention. So far, no injuries have been reported related to the recalled Mini Baby Shark bath toy.

CPSC advises consumers who have purchased these toys to stop using them immediately and contact Zuru for a full refund.

The agency said the large Robo Alive Junior Baby Shark Sing Swim toy was sold from May 2019 to March 2023, while the smaller version was sold from July 2020. The toys were sold at retailers across the US, including Target, Walgreens, Ross and Walmart.
