At the workshop, delegates and farmers directly visited and evaluated the initial results of the IPHM model deployed in the coffee garden of Mrs. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy (Hiep Hung village, Ea M'Droh commune). The model focuses on applying advanced and synchronous technical solutions to manage the overall health of coffee trees, thereby improving productivity, quality and resistance to pests and diseases, and adapting to climate change.
Ms. Hoang Thi Ai Lien, Deputy Director of the Provincial Agricultural Dog Center, spoke at the workshop. |
Coffee cultivation using IPHM will help farmers reduce 20-30% of pesticide costs; reduce toxic chemical residues in soil, water and air, etc., towards clean, safe and environmentally friendly products.
Farmers discuss with technical staff about coffee problems. |
Through the workshop, farmers are not only equipped with knowledge and updated with new technical processes, but also have the opportunity to exchange and discuss directly with experts and technical staff to solve problems in the production process. This activity demonstrates the accompanying role of agricultural extension work, connecting "4 houses" (State, scientists, businesses and farmers) to promote restructuring of the agricultural sector towards increasing added value and sustainable development.
This is an activity to concretize the orientation of the provincial agricultural sector in transferring science and technology, especially sustainable farming solutions for key crops with high economic value such as coffee. In the context of agricultural production facing many challenges from climate change and increasingly strict market requirements, building and replicating effective and environmentally friendly production models is an inevitable solution.
Delegates visited the demonstration model of Integrated Plant Health Management (IPHM) on Robusta coffee trees. |
The successful evaluation and replication of the model "Integrated plant health management on Robusta coffee trees" is expected to contribute to building a safe, high-quality and environmentally friendly agricultural production system; helping coffee growers in the province increase their income, stabilize production and affirm the position of Dak Lak agricultural products in the international market.
